Yeah, but that's a bit of a reach "announcement for iOS" would make more sense if it was just 4.2.

I still think it's related to the iTunes store, and won't require any changes to the iTunes app itself.

The period between both phrases indicates that it's either one of the following:

- Streaming/cloud service saving everything up in the sky, so that "nobody forgets anything";

- or in TRULY unforgettable terms, FINALLY The Beatles on iTunes...

And nothing else.

As much as I love the Beatles, I don't think Apple would make a front page for an artist joining iTunes. Maybe when iTunes was first starting, but now? Nope.

Also for people saying "Another Day" = Beatles. Nope. That was Paul McCartney not the Beatles (A song you CAN get on iTunes).

I could see either a subscription based service starting or maybe streaming from the cloud or your computer remotely.

dude you have no idea what you're talking about. the way cloud based works is they scan your local music library, which "unlocks" those songs to be streamed from the cloud. that way you have your mp3 on your computer, and your phone will be able to stream directly from apple's servers. nothing prevents you from carrying music locally, but cloud based ALLOWS you to not have to carry it locally. It's nothing but WIN.

Bro tell it is like it is! Finally somebody who is talking some sense!

Hmm a day I will never forget... Unless they are bricking my iphone I am quite sure I will forget it easily.... Maybe I am a little burnt on Apples never ending stream of the greatest thing that has never been heard of or even thought of and now we are bringing it to you even though other people have been offering it for possibly years now... Cloud would be nice since I am running out of space with the small 32gb that Apple left me with this year for an iPhone.

App subscription. 10 bucks a month, all the apps you want. Oh and music, movies/television and iBooks. One more thing... Beatles. Paul and Ringo close the show with a live performance.

Nothing new, just a subscription for all the music you want!

Probably a subscription so you can hear all the music you want, Nokia Has it, Spotify has it, duhh

My 2 cents...

Ok, had to jump in with my thoughts (some crazy, some not):

* All iTunes purchases available on your local machine and in the cloud - use iTunes on local machine for playback, authentication, etc;

* Apple TV will stream from the cloud if you'd like.

* Airplay, iOS 4.2 available

* Facebook: purchase music through Facebook and Ping integration. Facebook gets their cut this way.

* No subscription service. "People don't want to rent music."

* Acquisition of a service. Pandora :p

Whatever it is, it won't be half as un-forgettable as reading this whole thread has been for me. rainy lunchtime in the South, great MacRumors thread to have a good laugh over !!

Exactly. It's ONLY WORTH announcing something as truly unforgettable if The Beatles are there...cloud-based iTunes is WAY too overhyped for that.

Man, if apple did subscription based TV shows for like 15 per month, I would go out and by the new apple TV and get ride of my cable

Yeah, if whatever they're delivering costs monthly, there's no way I'll get it.

Knowing apple, it will have a monthly fee. (whatever they release)

Free music for all - Steve has bought the music industry.

You heard it here first (unless somebody already posted in the previous 21 pages of this thread).

:cool:
