Bring on the M4 Pro Mac Mini, my credit card is ready and waiting!

It’ll be quite the upgrade from my 2013 Mac Pro and I’m looking forward to it.
Damn, waiting 4 years while AS is out is crazy 😄😄

Face ID on Mac?
One issue with Face ID is that sensitive requests, such as payment confirmations, should still require additional interaction.

Face ID primarily benefits desk-bound users who prefer using third-party keyboards since Apple hasn’t licensed Touch ID. However, this would also require Apple to implement Face ID on their monitors. And even then, what about third-party monitors?

The big question is will these new products, and the iPad Mini 7, be included as part of Apple's Black Friday sale? In past years recently released products have not been eligible, but if Apple excludes those products, that is a large part of their product lineup that will not be eligible.

(Though it will generally be the low-end products, which might make it tolerable, just as sales / discounts by merchants in general are more targeted towards higher-end products.)

I'm looking for to a new Mini and I will be turning my M2 Mini. I was going to trade in my 2018 i5 Mini but then I read that Linux doesn't fully support Linux. At least the i5 will happily run Linux when Apple quits supporting in, possibly next year.
The only thing that’s really missing in Asahi Linux on my M1 Mini by this point is thunderbolt FWIW, even the GPU flies now with the latest updates. I’ve been daily driving linux on that M1 for quite a while now, great hardware working great with linux :)

Apple updates the chassis every after 4 iterations. That would make it 5, unlikely.
There was therefore the rumor of them doing a stepped change, the chassis comes first but still with miniLED, then OLED next. This is a result of the OLED tech no being ready in time.

I do not understand this fixation with FaceID on a laptop at all. Interaction with the laptop is always via the keyboard and touchpad, so unlocking with TouchID is literally an additional fraction of a second. The advantage is that you decide when it should be unlocked, and not that it will unlock every time you look at it, even at inconvenient moments when someone is standing next to you.

Some people's fingerprints don't work well with TouchID

Yes, and that would let Apple sell more devices instead of going all out with redesign.
Macbooks have become so good that they have to artificially limit other features to somehow encourage people to upgrade.

The thing is "events" are now just marketing videos. PR releases are normally web pages or information sent out to respective news agencies. The line between a video and a PR release is blurred so is there honestly any need for an event anymore?

Sure, announcing an event builds up hype and is talked about for the week or more before it happens. That is good marketing. But really we'll get new pages on Apple's site showing the new product updates, and there will be likely be videos touting the updated features. I'd rather have quicker product releases whenever they are ready than to wait for certain times of the year to make an event. The only events that make sense now are WWDC and iPhone releases. Anything else should just happen when ready.
