Engadget got one right?

"This morning, Engadget reports that a batch of three separate iPhone commercials have been submitted for airtime, and that at least one of them mentions the release date of Friday, June 29th. Engadget’s source allegedly works in Television and also mentions that the commercials are supposed to start airing next week, before WWDC begins. The commercial mentioning the official release date, however, is set to air after Job’s keynote on June 11th."

Here you go guys. Sorry for the low quality, I just pointed my MB up at the TV and did a recording in Quicktime. Hopefully a better version will but up shortly.

Don't have a copy of it but I just saw it and can definitely confirm its authenticity. It shows someone talking on the phone than wanting Calamari. They open Google Maps and do a search. Finally, it says "Coming June 29th."

I think there is more than one version. I just saw one. It shows an iPhone screen close up. The narrator says, "This is the internet." (ringring) Camera zooms out. Hand turns it from horizontal to vertical. Narrator says, "This is a call." I wasn't paying attention at first, so maybe it started like above.
I'll be out of the country until July 5th. SAVE ME ONE!

Somewhat strange for Apple to "announce" the release date in a commercial... but so be it.

Apple didn't announce anything. Seems like AT&T were keen to jump on this one first. My girlfriend just ordered a Prada phone - it looks sweet but having seen what it offers it's not a patch on what the iPhone promises/ Time will tell. 3.5 weeks til D-day.

Did anyone catch what it said right where it shows "Only with the new AT&T" at the bottom of the page. I think it says something about a 2 year contact. Someone check it!!!!!!!!!

The one I saw is definitiely different that the one posted and it definitely said "JUNE 29TH"

Kinda Random

Am I the only who's pretended like they are typing on the iPhone? When I do it's ALWAYS using my middle finger to type - just seems like it's a lot faster for me (that and it being the longest finger kinda helps...). Just wondering 'cause they show this guy using his index finger and it seems so slow...

Any thoughts? What finger do you use when you're pretending to type on the iPhone?

I have my questions

Just to play it safe I have a few criticisms of these adds....
1: they are from ATT, not apple... this is not consistent of apple
2: they totally don't follow apple's history of never!!!!! telling a date for availability in the future.
3: if you watch the video the part of the iphone that causes it to switch from widescreen to straight up seems to be off timing???????
4: also there are a few times he hits the screen and the screen doesn't respond
5: not to mention it's seems like a very poor add.
