Yup, and that’s actually how software development works. EVERY bug and defect that’s out today is there because it meets a company’s level of satisfaction. Some may be slated to be fixed in a matter of month, some, for years. Some may never be fixed. So from now on, any bugs and defects that got out mean they are intentional as they met Apple's level of satisfaction.
Apple, why do you keep digging? Who's in charge of Apple's PR?
Maybe because people aren’t pulling it in and out of purse / pocket 90 times per day. Different usage pattern?I'm OK with it... but why doesn't the iPad get Lock Screen customization, like the iPhone?
Thats why windows 11 requires new security chip that even AMS Zen 1 series doesn't have it lol
I want a MB that has a touchscreen and can run iPadOS apps, but also can run any MacOS apps or indeed any X11 app. I like the Surface Book removable screen design, but for the fact it has Windows. So what you really want is a MB, not an iPad
Took a moment to actually look at the specs. Wow, that IS a pretty limited machine, even compared to the base iPad that Apple actually makes a keyboard for. And that one also doesn’t do Stage Manager. My prediction, there are future iPads coming that also won’t have M1’s as the A series will be enough for that low-end performance. It has the A15, which is actually newer than the M1.
Though it is a slower chip and it lacks the RAM (4gb). My issue isn't that it won't run on this hardware, its that Apple released this hardware in the first place knowing that Stage Manager wouldn't run (Stage Manager would have been in development/testing prior to the Mini 6 release).
Maybe your expectations are out of whack if you think it's unreasonable for a 1 to 4 year old "pro" computing device to be able to run the operating system that is designed explicitly for it.Doesn’t change that buying something thinking that it’ll get more useful down the line is a recipe for disappointment… It’s nice to get new goodies but those goodies weren’t promised when those devices were announced.
What’s Pro mean to you? What’s Pro mean to Apple. To me, Pro means the top of that range for that iteration.Maybe your expectations are out of whack if you think it's unreasonable for a 1 to 4 year old "pro" computing device to be able to run the operating system that is designed explicitly for it.
False. Windows 11 can be run on 2008 laptop with official Microsoft bypass with 4GB DRAM while Apple claims that iPads are better than recent PCs so their double-standard will open them up for false advertisement lawsuit.

Funny, but Apple also (in the last few years) made the entry level iPad cheaper, so the cost has also fallen to get iPad features to a user. Almost all of the cool stuff iPadOS 16 brings can be had for $329. Scanning thru their features page, the A13 in the base iPad runs every new feature except for virtual memory + Stage Manager. But honestly comparing to how Tesla increase their car prices few % every 2 weeks or a month now, Apple indirectly increases the price or forces you to buy newest ipad to get new features is already very gentle.
And remove 6K support for non m1 series. No one is crying over 6K external display support. Then TWEAK THE THING until you're satisfied!!!
You roll out a whole bunch of things that stutter, crash, and burst into flames, and now suddenly you care about customer experience?

If I was Apple, I'd stop talking and delight in how desperate some people appear to be to experience this new productivity paradigm. All these people will buy new iPads Pros.
For those of us invested in the AAPL ecosystem, it's pleasing.
I have a 2020, and don't feel any need to sell it in order to use Stage Manager. Then again, I'm an adult.Even if you have pro 2020, need to sell it then buy a M1? LOL
They're explaining to morons, out of undue courtesy."If you're explaining, you're losing."

Apple says that its new iPad Pro is “more powerful than most Windows PC laptops”

11- and 12.9-inch models promise the highest performance yet seen in an iPad
YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT MY IPAD PRO 2020 cannot run stage manager. I am being lied to by Apple and the fanboys in this rumors forum is touting the company line. Please stop protecting Apple or call out them for their lies. If my 2020 is faster than a PC which actually runs windows, then don't say it can't run Stage Manager. Please stop the lies.
