Quick lesson: The other platforms have moderators, hate speech policies, the works. Ban people, kick them off their platforms. Parler does not, and was literally launched to give hate speech (and now literal planning of sedition) a place. Apple is done with it and so are all of us with any reason.

That’s exactly what Republicans did all summer. What’s worse is that the looters and rioters weren’t Democrats so much as those taking advantage of the presence of large numbers of peaceful protestors. Conversely, the folks who ransacked the Capitol were there because of Trump who fomented their anger about a “stolen election” into sedition.
From what I understand tumbler had child pornography on their site, they had issues with their algorithms. They eventually decided to shut down all porn on their site. Not entirely Apple decision but I understand that apple might have banned them for having child pornography.

Hate speech is protected speech. Racism is protected speech. Calls for general violence are protected speech. Calls for specific violence are not.
Why would we want to ban hate speech? What if the govt decided it’s hate speech to critize the govt because you hate gift officials? Or if they said it was hate speech to criticize the Catholic Church? Hate speech is too nebulous to make illegal. I prefer freer speech not less speech. Nebulous definitions like racism or hate would potentially seriously curtail speech. Would it be hate speech to point out that of the 100 fasts 100 m times 99 of them are by west black Africans. Is that hate speech against white because they are slow? Take something like pornography. It’s very hard for judges to agree on it so bans on it are difficult and often technical. How would that be for hate or racism?

What all of the "stop the commies!" folks need to maybe consider, is that NO SPEECH IS PROTECTED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. PERIOD. In the USA we respect private property, we are the NOT-commies, remember. And that means private companies who own private platforms can do WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT on them in terms of banning speech they don't like. Just like you can kick someone out of your house who says something you don't like. If you don't like it, maybe go to a communist country where private property isn't respected by the ruling party.
