They are actively addressing software issues. What else are they supposed to be doing? What a joke Apple is now.
What a joke Apple is now.
Oh my…should they give refunds to the people who already ordered online beforehand and lined up to get their hands on the pro maxes and 15 pros? like send it back to the factory to fix the problem not release a "update fix a ongoing problem". maybe release it october or even better yet wait 2-3 years for a new phone. basically the company is ****ing with the customers right now. get their money release half assed job on the phones 1 week later people are complaining about the issues.
Mine has never run hot. And the lowest battery percentage I’ve gotten is 71% remaining at the end of the day (when I put it back on the magnetic charger thing). I’m amazed at how efficient the 15 pro max battery is. My 6s Plus with a battery that was replaced a few times would require charging (at least) twice during the day.My 14 Pro isn't running warmer, but the battery life has been pretty bad. Hopefully that update addresses that as well and not be limited to the 15 lineup.
Tell me you didn’t actually read the article without telling me you didn’t actually read the article.Got it - so it’s everyone else’s fault but apple.
Which model do you have?Installed 17.1. beta and got rid of Instagram. Up until now phone is cool and battery life is way better than before.
(removed the rest of the long post)Going to call out and correct a few of the frustratingly low IQ type comments here. I just kept reading more and more of them and my jaw just kept dropping to the point where I decided to finally create an account. This is my therapy session for the week:
This was a well written rebuttal to the issues that have been raised by many folks here and on enthusiast blogs. And, you seem like someone who has some technical knowledge.Going to call out and correct a few of the frustratingly low IQ type comments here. Apple plans to release an iOS 17 update to address a bug that may contribute to the reported iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max overheating issue, according to a statement the company shared today with MacRumors and Forbes reporter David Phelan.

Apple also says some recent updates to third-party apps have overloaded the system and contributed to the overheating issue. The report notes that some of these apps include Instagram, Uber, and the racing game Asphalt 9: Legends, and Apple is working with the developers of these apps to address the issue. The report adds that Instagram already introduced a fix as part of an update to the app released on Wednesday.
Apple says iPhone 15 Pro models may run warmer than expected during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device due to increased background activity. This is standard behavior for new iPhones and only a temporary condition.
Apple's statement:The bug should be fixed with iOS 17.1, which is currently in beta and is expected to be released in late October. It's quite possible that Apple might also make a bug fix available sooner with a smaller software update, such as iOS 17.0.3.
According to the report, Apple will not be reducing the performance of the A17 Pro chip as part of the temperature-related bug fix. Apple also said the issue is not a safety risk and will not impact the long-term performance of affected iPhones.
Apple said the iPhone 15 Pro's titanium frame and aluminum substructure do not contribute to the overheating issue, ruling out a hardware problem.
Not all iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max users have experienced overheating, and it's unclear how many customers are affected by the issue overall, but it should be resolved soon.

I mean I would really love it if Chrysler decided my new Hellcat could loose a few hundred horse power after I paid $90k for it, new.probably some kind of throttling but that's ok, it's fast enough
Just like the fine woven. Radio silence from apple. But thankfully we don’t live in an oppressive regime.Impressive that they would tell you what are the problems and how they would fix it. In some countries they would just block the news and delete people comments, make a lot of fake positive comments lol xd.
You’re holding it wrong.Got it - so it’s everyone else’s fault but apple.
A subset of users. Specifically normal everyday users. My iPhoneFor a lot, it was normal. The issues are only affecting a subset of users.
this is the way.Never.
I only use cable.
Wireless is slow, the charger is expensive. I don’t like wireless.
Charge all night and use all day - back to charging before sleep on wire.
In my opinion people aren’t dismissing the issue. They’re dismissing the characterization of the issue as being catastrophic for the customer and Apple. My iPhone got warm enough during restore from iCloud to pause for maybe 30 minutes. If that’s as bad as it gets and Apple issues a software fix then we can all move on. If you’ve never written code professionally then you probably can’t appreciate the complexity both in terms of writing and testing. To expect bug free code is unrealistic no matter how expensive you think the iPhone is.Glad they acknowledged it and will attempt to fix it. But they need to do more quality assurance before releases.
I’ve seen too many online threads where people had the issue, and most commenters dismissed the issue because it didn’t happen with them. Maybe instead of blindly defending Apple and attacking the user, offer help to try and resolve it, then help raise awareness if it needs Apple’s attention.
This will lead to better products for us all, where we are getting our money’s worth for these expensive devices.
