sounds like apple could pull off a Microsoft here..

let's see if you will be able to lay the screen nearly flat and if the hardware will be in the base...

called it. where is my money?
You called it wrong, just like your call that iOS 13 would kill support for the SE. Where’s our money?

Might make sense to wait until one of your calls is actually correct before you call that you “called it”.

Glad I am still sitting on the fence ATM with ordering a maxed 2019 27”
maybe see what expires over the next few months and after WWDC
New iMacs were just released, and they seem to be on a two year update schedule (2015, 2017, 2019). Intel doesn’t have any new CPUs coming anytime soon that are suitable for iMac except mid-tier 9th gen, and Apple already gave up waiting for those and used the 8th gen instead.

So unless you’re planning on holding out for 20-30 months, there’s nothing to be gained by waiting as far as I can tell.

Ye can’t see them releasing another iMac this year. Sounds like a stand alone.

Be a big kick in the teeth to those who have just updated to 2019 iMacs.

If it's going to be a 6K display, it surely would come to the iMac Pro first. So this would likely be an update to the iMac Pro, which hasn't been upgraded since 2017. In 2017 they updated the regular iMacs first and then the iMac Pro later that year as well.

I'd really like to see someone pushing the market along for standalone displays, I'm only looking for something to plug my MBP into.

It's definitely an iMac then.
Apple did publicly confirm that they are working on a new standalone display to be released alongside the new modular Mac Pro.

LOL, maybe I should eh? I guess I misread/misinterpreted/went into dreamland and wished up what I wanted.

Are you starting your own rumor? lol

Definitely a massive difference, but the rumor is not about micro LED.
[doublepost=1554956616][/doublepost]If its 6K and about 32" I would guess $1500 USD minimum.

So how much do you think a standalone 6k Apple monitor would cost? Maybe $999
[doublepost=1554956705][/doublepost]I agree, very disappointing how few high ppi displays there are. They have that 5k2k ultrawide, but its still a lot less sharp than a 5k.

I guess they have to take Windows users into account, and Windows does not scale anywhere near as well as Mac.

None of their displays are retina unfortunately.

Dream on :) The 27” as a standalone monitor from LG is $1,299, and that’s with a quantity of maybe 15 million units, mostly from the sales of 27” iMac (just estimating).

31.5” is a niche product, and there won’t be nearly the quantity to drive the price down. I don’t think there’s any way it comes in below $2,000, and $2,500 would not surprise me in the least.
