Sure you can , cause the arguenent is based on form factor.

When I sold my 6 plus and used my 5S, it was a great experience. Given the current pricing my next phone is a 128 SE, I'm through paying £1000+ for a phone when the SE is an excellent phone and feels so much better in hand
I have a 5s and 6s. The 5s doesn't get much use except at the gym, it's much better in the hand but I miss the real estate, apple pay and 3dt. Mostly the real estate. So for me it's not a successful argument.

Cook stated America lacks sufficient skilled machinists to operate an Apple manufacturing facility.

But India does?
If Americans and Canadians and other Westerners were smart they would tell Cook similar things India and China do: if you want to sell your stuff here, you need to produce some or all of it here. As it is we in the West are funding our own demise. We have given away our prosperity in exchange for some cheap trinkets (and I'm not just talking about iPhones here).

Contrary to the wish or delusion of some, globalism is not 'inevitable' any more than feudalism was, or the rise of nation-states, for example. Choices are available no matter how hard the purveyors of globalism want to hide that fact.

Could argue SE spanks 6, 6S and 7......

You could argue it, but not sure it would be a successful argument.

All those arguments on both sides are subjective, but I definitely prefer the SE design better than the 6. The size, the corners, and the look of the SE "spanks" my current iPhone imo.

I have owned the original, 4s (favorite design), 5s, and currently the 6s Plus. I bought the plus size thinking that I would like the larger screen size, which I do, but only when I can sit down and have two hands on it. For me, it is horrible as a one handed phone.

I bought my wife a SE and she loves that size as the bigger phones won't work for her. My wife is a petite Indian, and her tiny child-like hands can barely fit around the 6s Plus to pick it up, let alone use it.

I wanted to buy an SE, but didn't want to drop to the 64GB storage size. Now that the larger storage SE is out, I might as well wait and see what the iPhone 8/x/edition will look like.

Good point about then subjectivity of it all including the design of the SE vs the 6, 6s or 7.

One item that is less subjective is under cook, Apple is giving its customers more choices than ever.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Slice it anyway you want, Apple has to pay to play.
That is what I was speaking to, maybe governments should make it a requirement of businesses to invest in their country if the company wants to sell its goods and services there.
I wish US would do the same:rolleyes:

I just wish those choices included latest hardware in smaller phones. Example, having a larger storage capacity; having the latest A processor; having a better camera; give us the choice of all of these without having to buy the larger iPhone.

While the phone size might influence camera design, I think not including the latest processor and storage options is just a way to get people to buy the more expensive phone.

That is not a change I like under Cook.

The price of the phones would be higher than what they are today for the se model. I guess that is an option for Apple, produce an "se flagship" model and charge 100 less than the current flagship price. Who knows, that may be in the works.

You might be right.

But, this is not just the case for the SE, as it is also true for the iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus camera. This might be due to a space limitation, but I think it has more do to with selling more Plus models.

Just another cash grab to dump all the unsold ancient models like trash and knowing Apple even trash will be sold at a premium.

By Manufacture do they mean ship all unsold / refurb stock to a warehouse in India, make a few banging sounds and then slip them out of the door to sell as, "Made in India"?

**** Apple planned to manufacture in Bengaluru. But do not plan to have KANNADA language in their OC. **** play from APPLE. As a company APPLE SUCKS.

And, so? One mans trash is another mans treasure and in this case customers are paying for treasure.

By no means is 2 year old hardware a treasure. They are going to overcharge for the old hardware. And the iPhone 6 is trash by today's standards. It performs below average and iOS 11 is going to wreck it even more. Who would be foolish enough to get one today? This is actually an insult even trying to sell the phone when the OnePlus 3T exists

They will burn their hands bigly. Going for Android, still waiting for my 5S to fail, probably battery had to fail.

The OnePlus 3T renders the iPhone 6 DOA and iPhone 6s is probably slower than it. What is it with Apple and ancient hardware. The new iPad is an iPad Air 1 from 2013 with an A9 processor. The Mac Pro is still being sold 4 years later at the same price. The iPhone SE is basically the iPhone 5s with an A9.The iPhone 6 got a 32GB version just for India. On the other hand the competition has wireless charging, curved edge OLED displays, quick charge , NFC, iris scanners.THIS is innovation. How many times is Apple going to sell the same phone with incremental features? We want mindblowing updates to the lineup not the same thing rehashed repeatedly to death

Let's at least add an imo at the end of the sentence. Strictly your own opinion. Also overcharge is a value judgement. And the next sentence is an opinion also. They next sentence is hyperbole as you can't claim to know anything about IOS 11.

By your statement the 3T should be trouncing apple. How is that doing in the marketplace?

So in essence hyperbole mixed with subjectivity.

Apple products are overpriced and missed train for Android. Apple is a C***.
Then why is apple the most valuable company? Why does it make the lions share of revenue compared to the competitors? Why does apple get awarded for their customer satisfaction?

Nothing but hyperbole in the above.

The new facility in India..Apple will sell more iPhone 6 from that facility on the first day than the 3T has sold to date. Apple is popular because their hardware and software is great together and the phones last. If you like android, innovation looks like the spec sheet. Might as well say Wi-Fi is innovation. If you like apple innovation looks like different ways of attacking typical things. I'm in the latter camp. Seems you're in the former.

There is no subjectivity about selling 3 year old hardware or even 2 year old without massive price drops. And its common sense that newer OS brings in more features and more performance overhead meaning reduced performance

The 3T definitely trounces the 6S and a 6 as a phone

Thats not gonna happen because only mid rangers and cheap phones sell in India. 3T will sell more than the 6S and 6 combined. As it should because its a superior phone to both

So iPhone Edition is not innovation?

The entire post is subjective, conjecture and hyperbole. My 5s is faster on 10.2.1 than iOS 7.

And in your opinion, "the 3T" is better.

More opinion.

How's the speed? How's iOS 11? Do you like the large bezels? I thought so.

Excellent point. More so, I'm curious what Cooks response would be to your rebuttal on this? My thoughts are India is plenty capable of handling such tasks and likely is an expansion past China's resources.

@Sunnysunnysingh. Since you Avidly follow me around on this forum, what are your thoughts on India having skilled machinist to operate independently in India? (Being you reside their.)

I don't live in india, so I can't comment on what's going on there and I am not following you

This is simple math. In India and other developing countries the phone is pretty much the most sought after item. With the phone you do everything. This is something people are willing to put down months of work for and an iPhone is also looked at as a premium device and Apple as a premium brand. Even if they only sell one iPhone per 1000 persons in India is going to be a significant amount. They will in turn be locked in to Apples ecosystem and make more money for Apple when they want to upgrade or when friends and family wants to get an iPhone too.

Wouldn't surprise me if they sell more iPhones in India in ten years than the rest of the world. Only China could come first but depends on how they will open up to the App Store and iTunes.

Coincidentally, I stumbled on the following article. Although it concerns software engineers, I imagine it applies to other skilled trades in India. Employers are choosing to train high school students rather than employ college grads. The reason:

Only 2% of India’s workforce is considered skilled. Even after being armed with university degrees, an overwhelming majority of engineering graduates are deemed unemployable!

https://qz.com/941399/indian-engine...nologies-wants-to-hire-high-school-graduates/

I call ******** on Cook's excuse.

/taps mic 2x

"Hi. I'm Tim Cook. I just want to remind our customers that we want them to have the best products... period."

/drops mic & walks off stage to huge applause

10 seconds later...

/walks back on stage and picks mic up

"Uh, that is... unless those products could negatively affect our margins and profit. Then we give you de-laminated, anti anti-glare screen iPads and old phones."

/carefully places mic back on mic stand
/walks off stage to repeated chant of "prof-it, prof-it, prof-it"

Tim smiles. The reaction from the students in the audience was even better than expected. The trip to Creekview Elem was successful.:)

Great!!!
