$10 is twice the price of this and you can't put the Xbox in your pocket and carry it with you everywhere.

What price point would be reasonable in your mind?
People forget that it's not Apple that's pocketing most of revenue (the same goes for Apple Music and Apple News+).

As I said, Xbox give you huge AAA games, Apple won’t. Big difference, I pay for the U,it ate for 10 pounds a month and get Gears a Of War 5 on Sept 6th, so included in the sub no extra charge and play it 4 days before general release.
You’ll never get that on this Apple Arcade thing. In app purchases have utterly ruined mobile gaming.

Well that’s a very good price. I’ll definitely give it a go. I like the fact that they are revitalising gaming on the Apple TV and that I can play it on my Mac too.

Wow. I only spend a few hours a month playing games (mostly mobile games or .io games). I was not looking to pay for Apple Arcade (was expecting at least $10/month). But with this pricing I will pay for it!

So....make your game/app store so crappy it drives everyone into the arms of your subscription model! Genius (Bar?)!

I don’t know the quality of the games so I’ll wait to see if it’s worth it. So far they look like free flash games from the internet but will wait

Did you even read this (or the previous articles) at all? There are no in-App purchases. No additional costs.

Imo price isn't the issue, it is the games.

So you've tried them all? Please do tell us all about them and give us your pre-release review.

With the family pack, the price is not bad. If only they put the games ported from PC like GTA, Wolves Among Us, Total War etc.

Hmmmm...I can use with my Apple TV and my PS4 controller? Sony please bring PSNow to Apple TV and it will be an incredible gaming machine with games of all types from two amazing sources. That would convince me to pick up an extra Apple TV.

That's actually a pretty good price considering there aren't any ads. Wonder how long that'll last when they realize they can have their cake and eat it too. "Apple Arcade+ available for $9.99 a month with no ads. Apple Arcade is still available at $4.99 a month giving access to over 100 exclusive titles."

unless there are compelling games, i will continue to spend 0 dollars a month. Thanks tho.

The AAA games for Xbox Pass are mostly older titles, and the majority of what it contains are not really AAA. That’s why it’s $10.

I'll definitely do this to have some games that don't prey on my weakness to micro transactions.

It remains to be seen whether Apple Arcade's titles can measure up to Xbox's classic AAA titles.

But Apple Arcade certainly offers the recipe for success.

At half the price, and perhaps even lower if Apple offers a bundle that you want, it could propel Apple as a viable fourth gaming platform. It's also worth noting that Apple Arcade titles will be cross platform across iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS (Nintendo Switch effect). With tvOS 13 adding support for PS4 and Xbox gaming controllers, Apple TV could finally become a decent gaming console.

Having said that, I do agree that Apple needs killer AAA-tier titles to make it a home run. While highly curated demo of Apple Arcade titles look promising, I might've said the same for game demos Apple usually drums up on WWDC and iPhone keynotes.

Chicken and the egg problem here. The intended audience are casual gamers so you're only going to get casual games.

Really? You have a source for that? I’ve read the official Apple press releases and I see no mention this is only for casual gamers.

Apple is going to charge $4.99 per month, according to details about the service discovered by 9to5Mac. Screenshots of an early Apple Arcade test were found over the weekend, and now prospective pricing has also been leaked.

The $4.99 price point is apparently listed in one of the APIs used in the App Store app. A promotional message says that Apple Arcade will cost $4.99 per month, with one-month free trial available.

Apple previously said that the monthly subscription price for Apple Arcade will provide access to all members of the family who participate in Family Sharing, which means that up to six people will be able to play games for the $4.99 fee.

$4.99 per month is very affordable for a subscription service that provides access to dozens of games. Apple has said there will be somewhere around 100 games available at launch, with no ads or additional in-app purchases.

Apple hasn't officially announced Apple Arcade pricing, so the price could be changed ahead of when it becomes available. Apple Arcade games will be available on iOS devices, Macs, and the Apple TV.

There's no word just yet on when Apple Arcade will launch, but an ongoing employee internal test is set to end when iOS 13 launches, so that could be when Apple plans on rolling out the service.

I don’t think it’s particularly cheap for what it’s going to be. Xbox game pass costs 10 dollars and the quality and size of the games is not even close to what Apple Arcade will offer.
Well that's on a full-fledged console, these are just mobile games.
