Well that's on a full-fledged console, these are just mobile games.

That's incorrect. That image is from a Macintosh.

"Apple Arcade games will work on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Macs. Apple says that many of the games will support Made for iPhone game controllers.

Because multiple platforms are supported, you can start a game on one device and then swap over to another without losing your place. So if you want to play a title on Mac and then take it on the go on your iPhone, you can do so." From https://www.macrumors.com/guide/apple-arcade/

And once tvOS 13 is released, Apple TV will be able to use controllers for Xbox and PS. Although if you ask me, Apple should make Apple TV Arcade Edition, bundled with Apple designed gaming controller and 1-year subscription to Apple Arcade.

Why don't you first give your expert opinion on why this will flop? Since you've made it clear it's going to in previous posts. Or are you exempt from having to back up your claims?
Go look at those previous posts and you'll see my opinion. I'm not going to do your work for you.

Apple’s history of strategy execution and double digit services growth without this?

I love these “ROFL” comments like there is a better executing company on the planet.
Apple's services are mediocre at best and Apple has aways been horrible at gaming. Please tell me why you think a company with an abysmal record in gaming is going to be a game changer with ios titles.

I'll wait.

The AAA games for Xbox Pass are mostly older titles, and the majority of what it contains are not really AAA. That’s why it’s $10.

No, their are recent games, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 4 and 5, all big AAA games, the most recent Tomb Raider is there, lots of huge AAA games both old and new are on it.

It remains to be seen whether Apple Arcade's titles can measure up to Xbox's classic AAA titles.

But Apple Arcade certainly offers the recipe for success.

At half the price, and perhaps even lower if Apple offers a bundle that you want, it could propel Apple as a viable fourth gaming platform. It's also worth noting that Apple Arcade titles will be cross platform across iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS (Nintendo Switch effect). With tvOS 13 adding support for PS4 and Xbox gaming controllers, Apple TV could finally become a decent gaming console.

Having said that, I do agree that Apple needs killer AAA-tier titles to make it a home run. While highly curated demo of Apple Arcade titles look promising, I might've said the same for game demos Apple usually drums up on WWDC and iPhone keynotes.

That’s a dream and will always remain a dream, Apple will never be a fourth gaming platform, iOS games cannot possibly ever compete with big PC and console games.

Flawed logic. That's like saying a compact SUV will never be successful because they can't seat 7 passengers or tow a large boat.

Hate to break it to you, but iOS is already its own gaming platform. It has the revenues and install base of users to back that up. So it doesn't fit into your narrow definition of what you think a gaming platform should be. Doesn't change the fact it's already very successful. And now will become even more successful this Fall with Arcade.

Why are people comparing video game consoles/games to a service that provides games

I'm not the demo. that :apple: is aiming for but I am going to check out the AA when trial is available. Do I NEED an :apple: TV to play the games?

PS - For any Xbox players reading this, sometimes GamePass is on promo $1 for the first month. It DOES have AAA titles, well over 100+ catalog.

The numbers show Apple services are in demand and growing at nearly 20%, to almost $50B annually with 64% margins.

Your opinion on them is literally meaningless. That’s not reality.

There are 1.4B devices. Apple can do games because they have nearly unlimited money to buy/license titles if necessary. They have many options and there record for executing strategy puts my money on Apple.

Apple is going to charge $4.99 per month, according to details about the service discovered by 9to5Mac. Screenshots of an early Apple Arcade test were found over the weekend, and now prospective pricing has also been leaked.

So that'll jump to $10 a month is Australia (priced always get jacked up more than the Us-AU conversion rate. That'll be a no from me for my family. Not when you consider multiple iPads where Apple TV is sometimes used to play games.

Blame your GST, not Apple. You actually pay less than we do here in the States. For instance the base MacBook Air is only A$1,544 there, that’s USD1,046 here but we have to pay $1,099—5% higher. Base iPad is $426 there, that’s USD289 but we pay $329 here—almost 15% higher.

You guys are lucky.

Not sure i understand your point. Why do multiple iPads matter? You presumably pay once for however many devices you use.

Ah yes, “The way of the Turtle” and “Hot Lava”, meanwhile Google has just announced Cyberpunk 2077 for Stadia. I really hope that Apple are doing an Apple and we get some actual games for this thing or it is going to suck so bad, regardless of price
Except Stadia is a ripoff at $40+ a month and you have to buy games separately. And you never really own the game, it's more of a rental. At least here, this is only $4.99 a month even with those downsides.

Family Sharing will be killer for providing games for the kids as well as the parents.

Waiting for all the complaints that $4.99 is far too much for what will obviously be a bunch of crappy "not real" games.

Now let's see an A13X powered Apple TV that includes a free year of Arcade with purchase.

Well they're not exactly AAA titles, but for what they offer, I think it's a fair price...

I’m not a gamer nor game developer and I also have no time to play games, and while the price of $4,99 may sound great, from a consumer point of view, but what is Apple’s cut here? I mean what’s in it for the game developers? Is that worth it?

Well it does have to work for everyone—Apple, developers and customers alike—in order to be successful. But besides the developers split of the monthly subscription revenue, Apple is also subsidizing game development, to the tune of a rumored $300-500 million. There aren’t a lot of details on how exactly the deals are structured, but I’m sure we’ll hear more.

Yeah, MS is offering their own 1st party games, but outside of MS it's mostly older titles or titles that weren't big sellers for AAA. The majority of the content is what people would consider to be "indie" or "arcade" type of material.
