This gotta be a joke android users get a fast charger free out of the box and and this money hungry campany called apple decides to charge 85$ for this? its bad enough the iphone x costs 1000$ and apple doesn't even give us choices for freebees when purchasing the phones like samsung does with their choices of gear 360 camera or free sd card and wireless charger. its time to jump ship to the note 8!

thats not the point its just another opportunity to take advantage and squeeze more money from their loyal consumers when other companies give you that option free in the box. at least cut us some slack for the people that have to pay premium prices of over 1000$

They clearly wanted to charge that much but realised there would be stiff competition elsewhere. Instead of even bothering to make their own they just took the competition in to their stores, sold it at their idea of a good price and will use that to trap some unknowing customers in to giving them a few extra $$$.

I actually think if they're going to charge so extreme prices for the X then they could have at least bundled in a wireless pad, at very little expense to themselves, to help support the idea that it is a premium device.

presumably the Belkin and Mophie ones offered on the Apple Store.

that's what i assumed, didn't know where the $85 came from since neither of them are that price.

there's plenty of alternatives on amazon i would buy if i were in the market for one.

I use the Anker 30 watt USB-C charger with my iPad Pro, works great.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It goes on sale frequently, I paid $20. The only downside is that the only cable that works is Apple's USB-C to lightning cable. I'm sure Anker and others will have cheaper compatible cables out soon.
While I don't have this exact charger, I've used Anker products in the past and they are definitely a reputable company.

I don't disagree with you. But out of the box you can't even connect an iPhone to a MacBook. You'd need to buy a Lightning to USB-C cable. So, I definitely didn't expect Apple to include a fast charging cable and wall adapter.

This is Apple.

They are going to be cheap when it comes to doling out what they include with the phone.

They are also masters of the up-sell.

To get more than the minimum will $$$ you.
