Agreed - Interestingly, she just spoke at the Salesforce Dreamforce conference in 2012. Not that it really means anything, because Silicon Valley is a very small town, but it was a good presentation, and I have to wonder if being at such a huge tech conference sparked her interest in Apple and/or Apple's interest in her.Yep. She's a great choice. She worked hard to turn Burberry back into begin a fashion icon and out of the reach of chav culture. And, visits to Burberry stores have always been a positive experience for me which contrasts greatly with visits to Dixons stores (Bartlett's previous masterwork).
Well that sounds like a nice hire. If she triples Apple's revenues... ummmm...well...nm.This is a statement. Ahrendts is an internationally respected merchant at one of the world's prestige brands. During her seven years in the top job, Burberry's revenues have nearly tripled and shares rose more than 300%.
someday Apple will no longer make computers. It will just be another consumer electronics company.
Hiring fashion execs for a computer company is the start.
That she likely had a hand in the Burberry fashion show that was shot on a 5S is an indictment she shouldn't be the one trying to sell this type of technology. I own a 5S and, in hindsight, that was one of the most uninspiring videos I've seen in a long time. The people in charge of the shot obviously didn't have a grasp of the capabilities of the 5S. If this was a preview of her ability to sell Apple products, Apple is not in good hands.
So never mind that Burberry's revenues tripled and the stock was up 300% under her tenure as CEO. What is it with people here always being negative and assuming every decision is bad for Apple.

Yes, she's good at selling clothes. Her first attempt to sell the new iPhone was a fail.
I don't know where you get that from (as you provided no explanation). She seems a much better fit for the job than Browett, who was never aligned with Apple's values.
This.Just.Isn't.Going.To.Work.Out.
A female SVP!
That new CEO of Burberry looks young.
And you're basing this prediction on...?This.Just.Isn't.Going.To.Work.Out.
'good'? You probably don't know that fashion has been struggling as an industry over the past few years-- so for her to do all that at Burberry while other labels barely break even speaks volumes.
Give her a chance, gheez!
Why not? What was it about Ron Johnson in 2000 that made you know he was going to work out for Apple?

burberry make some decent quality stuff
most of these "luxury" labels sell cheapo quality clothes with a lot of hype and advertising behind it. but the clothes fall apart in a few months
