10th anniversary iPod Classic. DO IT APPLE.

Amen! :D

The antenna gate was a hoax anyway.
Apple was actually to smart for their own good. The etches in the iPhone 4 metal frame is to allow better reception. To bad that it marked exactly where people should hold to bring down the signal.

All phones have antennas. Every single phone has a "death" grip.

antennagate was no hoax. have you ever used an iPhone 4? I guess I was just "holding it wrong"

*rolls eyes*

For all those hoping for a MacBook Pro update... they just updated in March.

I have never had antenna issues with my iPhone 4.

Why does everyone seem to forget that next october will mark the 10th anniversary of the original iPod release in 2001?

I'm not saying that it means that the event will be in october, but even in September, it wouldn't be surprising that Apple would do something special about it!

I'm really hoping for a 128GB iPod touch to replace my 80GB white iPod I've had for five years now. If not I may spring for the classic (if it's not discontinued.)

I don't think we'll see a 128GB version - at least not this year. I expect to see the 8GB capacity bumped to 16GB, while the other ones stay the same. So it would be 16GB, 32GB, 64GB all at the regular price points. However, I do think we'll see a 64GB iPhone 5.

Really? People still interested in the classic? That's cool! I hope it gets a huge update just for you!! :D

I'm certainly still interested...unless Apple comes out with an iPhone with comparable storage. I tried using my iPhone as my mp3 player, but my music library is quite large. Having to pick and choose what music to have on it all of the time was extremely frustrating. I understand that the Classic isn't the best selling iPod, but I would guess I'm not alone in my experience.

Heartily disagree. I was using a Treo 700p on Sprint when the original iPhone launched. Up to that point I was on Sprint for the past 7 years and had zero issues with them. But-for the iPhone I'd still be with them. I do not hold anything against Sprint, but it was well worth jumping to ATT for the iPhone. I have no regrets.

I just upgraded from a Treo to a Verizon ip4. I have things i miss still.... Like not having to pay data monthly! LOL!! handyshopper has no match, I don't get delivery info on my SMS, and I despise the chat bubble format of SMS, positives are I never could remember my VM password because i only get a 1-2 every couple of months

I have no plans to upgrade until the 6 and will save up to do that off contract.

The presumption that the signal attenuation would be bothering more than a tiny minority was the hoax.

I bet if you did a survey of iPhone 4 owners now and asked them if it has worse reception than their previous phone (and subtract the background noise, ie, the percentage of people saying that even if they had been given exactly identical phones), you would arrive at a very tiny percentage.

cool story but my first iPhone 4 had that problem. I ordered it new when it came out last summer. Im currently on my second one i got back in March, and guess what, it has the same issue.

I love my iPhone 4 but to answer your question, yes my 3GS had better reception. It could actually complete a call no matter how I held it.

but back on track: I cant wait for the iPhone 5
YAY!

Yup, looking to be an iPhone 5 owner soon enough!

But my 3GS, surprisingly, is still in great shape! It hasn't really slowed down... the battery is still going strong, all the buttons still work, and all the speakers/mike are fine! The only complaint is that there's a pixel or two in the middle of the screen that's given out :( and of course a few scratches...

3GS is not to be underestimated my friend! :D

I'm still rocking an original 8GB iPhone after 3.5 years. It's in solid shape and the battery still gets me through a whole day without an issue. Can't wait to upgrade though.

People stuck on their heads that the iPhone 5 will be announced when there hasn't been any confimation or denial by Apple in the matter. You should wait to see what is actually announced before celebrating, cause imagine the iPhone is not announced, that would be a big turn off for everyone, including me...

FI there isn't an iPhone announcement their stock will easily drop 10-20%.

I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone 5 isn't a major upgrade. Its been a year and a half since iPhone 4 was released. Apple haven't been sitting around doing nothing.

I'd imagine the iphone 5 has something to do with a 'production transition' / that or the iPod.

lucky you.. whenever i let anyone use my iPhone i have to show them how to hold it. If I don't and they hold it like any other phone it drops their call every time. Its embarrassing to a degree
I've never had a single issue with it either... Maybe it is a regional thing.

I don't think everyone is forgetting, I just think that they don't really care. I don't see a problem with Apple producing a 10th anniversary iPod or something, as I am sure some people would buy it. But, I think most users, me included, have moved beyond the iPod as a standalone device. My iPhone has iPod functionality, so I have no use for another device.

Where would the event be?
Yerba Buena already shows an event on their calendar for that date and Moscone already has one on 09/08.
Isn't the September event usually a multi-day deal?
