In other news apple Tim Cook and co iPhones found to run code that disables all ads. Say they find them intrusive and ruin the look of their well sculptured device.

Jonny Ive heard to say "not on my ****ing iPhone. I slaved hours days months to make this thing beautiful. ****ing graffiti ads hideous. Code my ios so I don't see this **** that makes my iPhone ugly like something Microsoft put out"

Eddie Cue overheard saying in the cafeteria "I don't use iphone so couldn't give two ****s. I mean if I actually used the device do you think I'd put up with ad crap. Here take a look at what I carry, its empty, one of Johnny's prototype sculptures"

Apple marketing put out a new ad

iPhone. Not just a phone. Now more lifelike than ever. iAds bring life into iPhone. Ever envied your friends who have a bad nagging wife and kids. Now with iAds you too can feel how they do. Buy me this. Buy me that. Give me all your money. iAds the new way to suffer ... Brought to you by apple

Meanwhile Samsung see stocks rise as they go ad less.

I will avoid any app that implements these video ads at all costs.

Good that there's usually paid app alternatives. :) Seriously though, personally for me, free or low cost is usually a negative sign, clearly the developer thinks it's worth almost nothing at all.

This is horrible. I am getting a little tired of ads lately, and I understand a lot of places use them to generate revenue but full screen ads of any kind drive me crazy. I avoid any apps, website, etc that does this. I'd gladly pay a couple dollars and forgo the ads.

Android has this already. This is proof Apple copies Android/Google.

That's a joke. I am an Android user who is making fun of Android because they already these annoying ads. Chill. :)

"I hate ads, how obnoxious"

"I hate paying fair prices for great software"

You can't have both. You need to choose which is more important to you, because a developers time, effort, and creativity should be rewarded.

Worst are paid apps with ads

Maybe if people were willing to pay more than .99 developers wouldn't need to rely on that. I'm not arguing ads that are excessive in paid apps is done in good taste, but I think people need to be willing to pay rather than getting all huffy when developers DO try to charge 5-10 dollars for great software with no ads.

Apple has them already too. This is about iAds.

I know you're joking - but the equivalent would be if Google had full screen ads - which I don't believe "they" do. I could be wrong.

Just wait for the adblocker jailbreak plugin to update and block them. I've not seen an iAd or website ad on my iPad for months. It's wonderful!

1) Apple is not Google.
2) Google is an advertising company.

Therefore Apple is not an advertising company and should KNOCK THIS CRAP OFF!! I buy Apple so that I DO NOT GET ADVERTISED AT! Apple, see the above video, it is correct!

My iPad has no applications on it that include advertising. If I am left with no choice to avoid advertising, my only choice left will be to stop buying software, and stop using Apple devices.

Linux looks neat...

Oh... joy...

Note to advertisers: I make it a point NOT to buy stuff from ads that are annoying, have to be watched or dismissed before I can continue in an app, and otherwise disrupt my use of my iPhone.

Ditto! I didn't pay $400 for my iphone so I can be bombarded with ads. Come on Apple, we're supposed to be buying a premium product. Ads? Ok, but how bout some limits on the level of annoyance they will have? I mean, FULL SCREEN VIDEO ads? Get real.

I don't. I think most of the 2 to 300 apps on my iPad cost more than .99. So here is my recommended fix. Apple requires two versions of an app. One that uses advertising to pay for it, and the same app without NOISE that I can pay for.

As a consumer, I don't want to see these. They're incredibly annoying and detract from the experience of any app.

As a developer, I'm excited. I don't put ads in my apps because I want the experience to suck for those who watch them - I put them in so I can make some money for the hundreds of hours (if not thousands) that I put into the app. Either pay me and I'll be happy to give you the full app ad free, or watch the ads so the advertising company will pay me on behalf of your usage of my app.

I don't know why the angst against Apple on this. They are just expanding the platform. They aren't embedding it into the OS or core apps. They are making something available to developers.

The anger and frustration seems silly.

The app I was thinking about was not .99$ and I wouldn't mind paying more for no ads, the option was not there.

This is a really bad idea. Time to start limbering up my "uninstall finger".
