Thank GOD!

I've got a 12 Macbook last year and it's so effing slow I can barely use the thing.

Hey everybody! The USB-C dongles are right down there!

Ummm yeah. I'm in the market for a new Mac Desktop. I'm looking at the 27" iMac. I am hoping, AT LEAST, that they will come with, at a minimum, 256 SSD instead of a freaking HDD or Fusion drive, forcing an expensive upgrade to get to a SSD. Should be a no brainer but we all know Apple - charge premium prices for the product then gouge on upgrades.

Also wondering, with the talk of elimination of ports on the MB Pro, what they'll ditch on the new iMacs (should there be any). I'm really hoping i can connect the devices I have without resorting to a dongle farm hanging off the back of the iMac. At least give me the standard T-Bolt ports so I can connect my Apogee audio interface and a Thunderbolt dock - from which I can connect most other things...

Or perhaps a new Mac Pro, one that's actually designed for Pro users. One would think that with all the users decrying the 2013 TC Mac Pro Apple would get a clue and build what Pro users actually need - a form factor that makes sense and allows for plenty of expansion as we need. Audio Pros - we don't necessarily need 2 big deal video cards but we need a powerful CPU and plenty of RAM and ports to connect our gear. Yeah - Not holding my breath here....

Not seeing a lot of buzz, though, about new desktops, just MacBooks. I guess we'll find out soon. At least if the update is underwhelming it should drive down the price it'll cost for me to get into a 2015 4.0 GHz iMac with SSD...I hope.

Don't expect a Mac Pro update. The machines are just so poorly designed it's not funny.

We had a major overheating issue with the top of the line CTO model and after scouring the forums we saw this is a very common issue. We joined a discussion on an Apple forum and their own representative told us this advice:

"Try and find a Mac Pro 5,1 to do your work"

So even Apple don't trust their own product! I'd say they'll either discontinue it quietly at some stage, or offer a major redesign again to fix the thermal core issues.
