Apple to Introduce New Macs at October 27 Event

Mark my words, these will be sold out/backordered for weeks. There has never been this much pent-up demand for a Mac lineup. Super excited for this.
One of the reasons why they delayed the announcement/launch. But i'm sure they will probably still sell out.

Makes me sad to say this, but...
I'm worried that they reshuffled original earnings report date, and then made the Apple event date 2 days after that rescheduled earnings report date, all in order to provide some positive news following a uninspiring report.

It seems to me like it should be a good report. It's just that the scheduling smells fishy.

Maybe the headphone jack will be a build to order option. It's not called a MacBook Pro for nothing.

All jokes aside, I don't want to see any options for HDDs or Fusion drives. It's going on 2017. SSDs are dirt cheap these days. I'd expect 256 or 500GB to be standard across products.

Hoping to also see some M.2 offerings for the iMac for some incredible performance gains.

I'm vaguely aware! SD cards are slow. I'm surprised why people are still so attached to them. Plus it's nothing that a $10 converter can't fix.
Yes but having it in built is important and a lot more convenient, especially for those who use it all the time. Apples vision is smaller/thinner and wireless. That is not shared with a lot of the pro industry which is very much attached to certain standards.

I made this happen!

I just ordered the bits for a new home server so I could turn my current media server/PVR into a Hackintosh, and now this.

Hey, it was nothing!

Hopeful that some more SOLID rumors start coming in about Macs other than just the MBP. It will truly SUCK if they don't update the Mini, iMac, and MP.
Apple have been amazing at keeping the Mac refreshes confidential. There were a few intentional leaks to see market reaction, but I think they pushed the attention towards the iPhone 7 leaks. There will be other Mac updates. Although I do hope the iMac is refreshed next year when all the new gen components are ready.

I think it is a mistake to remove the SD card.

At some point in the future you will be able to transfer photos from your DSLR to your MBP fast wiressly. This is not the case today, so It's premature to remove it. It is also very small and this is the pro model, where people are willing to sacrifies size to get a more powerful computer.
