I know a few people with 8GB and 16GB devices who have had to delete apps and photos to update to iOS 8.

Or just attach it to your computer and update thru iTunes. No need to delete anything, more reliable and faster. Who's fault is that that "people" don't know a thing about their devices?:)

Cue the racist xenophobic and business-stupid complaints about Apple starting to sell in other counties before meeting the demand of every white person who wants a phone first.

iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, I still haven't decided yet.

Wish they had 32Gb base model, now instead have to spend more for 64Gb.
Seriously what fits in a 16Gb version anymore? Greedy much :apple: ?

The 64Gb is actually priced the same as to what the 32Gb used to be... Also it makes more sense to make a greater difference in size between the the base model and the next one in size (e.g. 16Gb, 64Gb) than it does to have the product line start at 32Gb.

By keeping the base model at 16Gb its effectively marketed towards individuals who aren't tech savvy, older generations and simply those who just wants to use the devices as a phone and nothing else, whilst allowing Apple to provide them with a device that is roughly $100 cheaper.

And this is why despite placing my order day one, I don't have my iPhone 6 PLUS yet.

Not really.

The launches were planned probably at least a year in advance. The reason you don't have you phone now is the unexpected demand for iPhone 6 Plus and even to a smaller extent the iPhone 6 with different configurations.

iPhones are huge hit in India. A lot of people have a considerable disposable income and the quantity of iPhone sold had risen tremendously since the iPhone 5 over here. Such is the demand since iPhone 5 that people pay premium of about $50 - $100 to get their hands on it first after the official release also.

It may not be near to the china numbers, as local brands like Micromax, Karbon and samsung sell more. But 7 out 10 buyers for premium handsets prefer iPhone to other phones.

Infact I will be going to the store at 16th midnight to get my iPhone 6 Plus - 128 gig

Thanks for sharing this... Do you have actual numbers of how many were sold?

Imagine if Apple can command huge sale numbers from both China and India........... time to buy some more Apple stocks.....

Good luck with your 6+ purchase.... hope you enjoy it.... I played with 6 & 6+ at my local store this weekend and was blown away by the speed of it.... I am saying this even though my 5s on 8.0.2 is quite fast already !! 6 & 6+ felt even faster....

6/6+ raked up 20K pre orders in India on the day they began taking pre-orders.

Thats a fairly impressive number since I have never really met many people on my visits to India that pre-order their phones. I do however see a very sharp contrast between Apple in China and in India. Apple has ZERO direct retail presence in India, so there is a total lack of the "apple experience" of going into a genuine apple store and experiencing the entire lineup of apple product. Apple deals with third party re-sellers. I had to visit them twice on two separate trips and both tried to sell me "cheaper" quality, chinese accessories for my iPad. The experience with these re-sellers is "crap". Meanwhile Samsung has huge market presence with dedicated stores in even the smaller cities, and has had them for close to a decade from what I have heard.

Compare to China, where according to some reports pre-orders currently stand at 20 Million

Apple isn't allowed to open up retail stores in India and until it has significant market presence in that country, i really do not see them having the sort of impact on sales as they do through china.

Thanks for sharing the info....

I remember Tim Cook visiting India early this year or was it last year - can't remember. I am pretty sure that India is a target market for Apple to crack...

As iKaushal said in the earlier post, India has a lot of people with a high disposable income. iPhone surely could sell quite well there if Apple opens up a few stores in major cities and also advertises heavily... One thing in India, heavy advertising seems to sell most things......

Thanks once again for taking time for sharing.. Appreciate it...

Agreed, but the way apps are increasing in size and the data stored on the devices now, it really seems that even the average user will run out of space to do upgrades when i0S 9 comes out next year. Especially with the iPads, where the 16g model is just way too small now.

So everyone in the first release countries were white? How do you know? Are you saying only white people in the release countries were buying iPhones?

You do know that there are a mixture of races/colors in most countries.

I just hope Apple ships my iPhone 6 order before they send too many to Greenland, Reunion Island, and Kosovo.

Come on!!

With 20million+ pre-orders from China alone, this will be a tough rollout. They'd need to hire a whole lot more people in their entire supply chain to achieve the 100million or so devices needed for a rollout of this scale.

More? the 64gb is the same price as the 32gb you should really do some research.

I wouldn't go that far.

Albeit, the statement isn't entirely correct, but it isn' completly off either. The demand for the new iPhones has put a constraint of the supply in the US, but to expect Apple to hold up launches in other contries until the back log is cleared is kinda crazy.

I see the first launch countries as getting a chance at the new phones before next countries do. That is a good thing, could you imagine the wait if apple release everywhere at the same time?

People could easily be looking at 1 - 2 month wait times.

a product lineup has been described by Eddy Cue as being "the best product pipeline that I've seen in my 25 years at Apple."

Hyperbole? I guess I'll reserve my final judgement until this Thursday, but so far I don't see how the current products are more impressive than the original iPhone or iPad. Perhaps Cue was referring to the sheer volume of products.

Sorry to rock the writer's boat but there are NO Latin American countries included in this latest roll-out.

Keeping the 16GB model instead of the 32GB really ticked me off. I know a few people with 8GB and 16GB devices who have had to delete apps and photos to update to iOS 8.

I went with the 6 Plus - I couldn't pass up the larger battery and screen.

Rather than deleting things you should encourage your friends to update using iTunes. It's simple and you don't have to delete things.

And if you don't have a PC now that we live in Apple's post PC utopia??

They will get it right with the 6 and 6+. Early adopters always pay a price for their lack of patience. Customer demand forces Apple to rush products to market. People complain when they don't get products updated fast enough, and they complain when they release them too fast. I think they have a good balance most of the time. Just avoid being an early adopter. I have to admit that the Mac-mini has been a bit too long though.

There maybe still some issue with the 6S plus. We may be better off waiting for the Iphone 10, or Iphone 20 then it would be issue-free. Hopefully be then, Apple will perfect all of its products

I'm black and I agree with his message. ;) I don't care what color the scalpers are. I don't agree with what they are doing. If it was just a few people doing it, no one would be complaining. Since it's a ton of people doing it I feel like it's gotten out of hand.
