I had to settle for the 16gb 6+ due to the fact my old phone was hardly working, could not do in store reserving with AT&T next, and was sick of running around town. Would have liked the 64GB but it wasn't in the cards this year. Hopefully with the 6s+ Apple's manufacturing partners have better yields.

Why doesn't Apple actually fulfill my order first since I ordered the 6+ 128 SG on 9/19 early morning and my delivery date is still between 11/09 to 11/27.

Why didn't you try to order it earlier? At least 4 millions people got their phones on the launch day by pre-order and and a handful of people got their phones since then. When you placed your order, you knew the estimated delivery date and you were fine with that. Otherwise, why did you order online instead of going to store?

Apple launches another round of Iphone 6 in other countries; but that does not mean that everyone in those countries who wants a new Iphone can pre-order and get it on the launch day. Their waiting time could be significantly longer than yours. So please stop complaining.

FYI, I pre-ordered my phone on the first day at 7AM EST and was able to secure 2 phones for instore pick-up on the launch day. Because at the time, the shipping options sliped to 7-10 biz days already. Recently, I was able to find another 6 plus from Apple store with the specs and color I wants for my parents. Instead of sitting there and wait, be a little bit proactive if you want your phone earlier.

They will get it right with the 6 and 6+. Early adopters always pay a price for their lack of patience. Customer demand forces Apple to rush products to market. People complain when they don't get products updated fast enough, and they complain when they release them too fast. I think they have a good balance most of the time. Just avoid being an early adopter. I have to admit that the Mac-mini has been a bit too long though.

That is simply not true. I have updated for the last three launches and there are always that same number of complaints and issues whether it is the initial year or the S year launch.

I would say that do to the Apple quality, there are not issues with the new models and 'early adopters' are on a whole very happy IMHO.

I find the idea (that because Apple is based out of California, US users should somehow get priority on deliveries compared to the rest of the world) quite funny

64GB for an extra 100$ is really bad. Sure, relative to last year it is great, but the simple fact of the matter is that Apple is price gouging.

If paying $100 for 48 GB extra is bad, then saving $100 for 48 GB less is excellent. Instead of assuming "price gouging", if you think that the difference between 16 GB and 64 GB should be less than $100, you should assume that the 64GB buyers pay a bit more so the 16GB buyers can get their phone for a bit less.

And if you don't have a PC now that we live in Apple's post PC utopia??

Maybe you _know_ someone with a PC? Maybe if you ask your boss at work, he or she will allow you to use your works PC? Any friends with a PC?

Is a company's entire purpose in existing not to make money? If it's anything else, please let me know.

It's usually not the purpose of a company. It may be what shareholders want, but they are not the company. The purpose of a company is whatever the founders of the company decided what it would be. Successful companies will have often have goals that lead to the company making money, like Apple does. But the primary goal of Apple, for example, is not making money.

You can start a cake shop with the goal of making the best cakes in town. If you fulfil your goal, then you are bound to make money as well, as a happy side effect. If you start a cake shop with the goal of making money, you will likely fail if you try to optimise the profit per cake instead of optimising the quality of the cakes.

Apple believed they could ship (and sell I presume) 80 million iPhones this year. That is, by 31 December. Where they miscalculated was on the ratio of - to + models.

Tim the operations man knows what to do.

And if you don't have a PC now that we live in Apple's post PC utopia??

Then you can do a complete wipe and update the phone, and then restore your backup from the iCloud back up that you surely have. Or, spend the extra $100 on a bigger phone. It's not Apple's fault that some people don't want to or don't know how to do one of the three options they have other then doing an over the air update. Apple does not keep those options secret.

Very well put Sir!!! Couldn't agree more...

I'm not certain if most people get the point or not.
32Gb is by no means free when you're purchasing a 64Gb version.
If the initial model was 32Gb itself, which is long overdue anyway most need not pay the extra 100$ for the 64Gb. :(

To the one saying 16Gb is enough, you're using cloud storage. You really think every country has unlimited data plans? Also good luck with OTA updates with 5Gb of what you have left.

If you are complaining don't buy it.

It isn't "Price Gouging" when the bottom line is people are willing to pay for it....however with that said, the choice by Apple to jump the 32GB to 64GB but not change the 16GB was clearly a good strategy to maximize profit for Apple. 16 GB is becoming less and less a good choice as we store more on our phones, the cost to jump to 64GB for Apple is negligible, yet they are charging consumers an extra $100 for that.

Apple's bottom line is going to smell like roses the next several earnings reports.

I couldn't pre-order because I had to have the ATT retentions people let me get in an earlier upgrade than my contract allowed and they would only order me the phone on launch day.

Does anybody know how the launch for Serbia will happen without a dedicated Apple store? It is currently the only country in Europe not present in the apple store and it still has no official Apple representation, despite many iPhones and iPads in use.

It would be nice if they could come at least close to fulfilling the orders they have first. I still haven't seen a single iPhone 6 or 6+ over 16GB in any store in Vienna, except those that refuse to sell without a contract.

great, but I am skipping 6 and 6s, 5s works fine and probably will next 2 years... and then, hopefully 7 will bring back 4inch form factor..

I wouldn't be even a tiny bit surprised if we saw a refresh to the 5 form factor in the spring. This spring in fact. Apple is not going to totally abandon that size, and refreshing in the spring enables them to spread out their sales calendar. Thoughts?

They are actually making iphones right? It is frustrating to have Apple so consistently mess up on quantities. STILL none to be found. They want numbers to be amazing yet they manage to always shoot themselves in the foot on numbers by not having any to sell.

How about filling demand here first

Before opening the iPhone 6 series to the rest of the world, how about Apple filling demand in its home country first. I've been waiting for a month for the iPhone 6 Plus, even through I placed it at 3AM on the first preorder day.

I guess when you let them fly off the assembly line full of bugs its easy to get millions out....

Apple needs to focus on quality not quantity, Glad I still held onto my 5s...

maybe they will get it right with the iphone 6s ???
what bugs?

And yet stock of *ANY* iPhone 6+ is totally nonexistent.

From looking at stock levels in istocknow, this could be one of the worst managed launches Apple has ever done. And there are how many threads with people whining about their iPhones taking so long to arrive?

I'd say what pisses me off more is all the perfectly good iPhone 6 Pluses lost to BS bending videos.

As long as you use your phone for only phone calls you should be fine with 16gb

I filled my 6 with office apps (keynote, pages, numbers), Microsoft mobile, business apps and GPS apps and some games and still have 40% of 16 GB empty.
