At this point, might as well wait for a WWDC launch? And is there no Spring color iPhone this year? Was really hoping Product RED and the old rumored dark red titanium would launch.

This "software" delay is the stupidest thing I've ever heard frankly, doesn't make a lick of sense. Apple releases software updates the same day for tens of different iPhone and iPad models. Yet somehow, these new iPad models are so fundamentally different that it's taking them weeks to finish the software? Make it make sense.

Say it's delayed due to production issues, that's reasonable. But this software thing is straight bogus.
Perhaps the software is significantly different this time around because it supports MacOS on iPad 🤩🤩🤩#WishfulThinking

I gave up waiting. To be fair I have a price limit of what I want to spend on an ipad and every time I upgrade it edges up slightly. But I‘m not paying the new prices. So I just got the 4th gen ipad pro 11 as my iPad Pro 2018‘s battery had really deteriorated I was only getting about 2-3 hours screen on time and even at home it was a inconvenience to keep charging.

Maybe they are doing extra testing for jelly scrolling... they can't afford jelly scrolling on the new iPads. So they are working on a new screen coating that is ultra resistant to jelly... it actually prevents jelly getting anywhere near the screen. SO you can't physically scroll jelly, and therefore no jelly scrolling issues.

This “new software specifically for the upcoming iPads”worries me. I’m afraid these iPads will be coming out with new features of AI and these will be so exclusive that only brand spanking new devices will get them, and my poor little M2 will be left completely behind. The only thing that gives me comfort is the fact that Vision Pro, apple’s darling, has an M2 chip in it. Possibly the M series chips will all be able to move forward. I am mainly concerned to have the Siri upgrades. I’ve been awaiting them since the iPad three.

my dissapointment is immesurable and my day is ruined. i can't keep my excitment up another month.

In May or may be cancelled. The new Apple way.
Ha. I can imagine it now... like the 'Apple Car': "After 10 years and billions spent in R&D, Apple has ended the development of the iPad Pro. The cancellation will lead to layoffs, but some team members will be reassigned internally. ..."

But at least the sellers of rumours will remain gainfully employed, as hint of the new iPadVR with enhanced AI begins to trickle out.

This software issue could be tied with the big changes in AI they claim for iOS18.

I know AI is a big thing... but part of me feels nervous regarding how fast and how hard so many companies are jumping into it. It sure feels like Apple is planning to dive right in... but I wonder of the implications for security, privacy...
What are you talking about man??

I'm good with a delay as I can't afford a new one now, but come May, or June, or July, whatever...

It's hard enough to get excited about phone updates, but new iPads? We have three generations of iPad Pro 12.9 at the house, and absolutely can't tell any difference. Only thing I'm looking with some hope at is iOS 18...

It's the perfect way to sell a load of iPads... by restricting the new AI focus to the most recent iPads. I believe the performance gains in the ML aspect of the upcoming SoCs is about twice that of the last gen... thats significant.

You will tell the difference with what Apple have in store with regards to AI... your old iPads won't be able to run it lol

Had a feeling they would wait to WWDC. Try buying an iPad Pro on Amazon. Virtually no stock. Apple will miss out on sales for 2-3 more months.

Are iPads usually included in that? I can’t remember from previous years.
iPad Air and iPad Pro. Not regular iPads.
