The rep on the phone went to double-check but the people he went to check with were out with a note that said "be back soon". So all he could do was speculate and advise me to keep refreshing the cart page in my browser until the option is enabled or I give up.

One interesting piece of info I got from him is that the SoHo store has 6,000 slots they can fill. Now, to speculate what exactly that means...

You must use the Apple Store app and go all the way through check out. Then scroll down and press the button for in store pickup. Then you can type in a zip code, but it will automatically look for stores near you!

It is greyed out for me. Where do I change the store?

Can you check this store?

Can someone check the stores in Ohio? Specifically the Kenwood Towne Center? I'm looking for a 16GB or 32GB black. TY!:D

The rep that I talked to was sure it was PST, but then double-checked and was told it was timezone-specific. I had to convince her based on the info gleaned from here, and the fact that the "Buy now" button on http://www.apple.com/retail/iphone/ flipped from grey to blue at 10pm EST. Still no luck for me.

Just spoke to a rep at 5th Ave store in NYC. He said they were sold out for tomorrow and that the reservation had started at 10 pm (obviously EST as it is not 10pm PST yet).

I asked if they sold out in 1 minute as I logged in at about 10:01 and he said: yeah, probably. He also said the same had happened to the iPhone 4S (though I did not know if it was possible to reserve this way last year.)

Except they show in stock at stores. Reservations should remove from the available quantity.

As posted earlier, I'm doing an upgrade on a line not eligible to upgrade.

Sorry about my constant questioning. :D Thanks again mate! Sadly I can't do that.

Now I'm actually thinking about staying up until 1 am. I'm pathetic.

Feel consoled by the fact that you're not the only one considering staying up...and actually doing it. :D I second that. xD

me: is it 10 pm est or pt

them: The reservation or Pick Up option is not available at the time for the iPhone 5.

me: your website says it.

BS.

Just spoke with someone at 1800-MY-APPLE. (Yall should call to give them more pressure to fix this asap) and apparently they are aware there is this issue.
