go to checkout page where it says ship to you or pick up in shoe. at the bottom go to find closest store to you. something like that
Or maybe that rep just made a guess. I dont want to risk waiting 3 hours and then they flip the switch before and then i miss the reservation

I'm in the app - Trying for a 32gb black/ATT.... It tells me that it's in stock at my closest store, but won't let me choose the "pick up this item" option.
I called the store, was on hold for 30 mins, the rep told me it was local.
I'm chatting with a rep at the same time, and am told it's for sure pacific. WTF
I knew having the app has an advantage.. Could anyone with the app check for me if they have the Black 16 AT&T in stock at the buffalo NY store?works. did this before. soho in nyc has it

So when I thought the launch was eastern time, I tried to open a new sprint line and when I got to the end saw the pick up wasn't available.
Then 10 min later I tried again and got the message "based on the info you provided, a deposit may be required, you can do this at the retail store" and then it took the iPhone out of my cart.
Anyone knows if it checks your credit each time it goes through? Seemed to go fine the first time but not the second or after.....

It has to be pacific. They do everything in pacific time and the website is not going to know your TZ. Nice of Apple to make this clear before I wasted 45 minutes.
The problem is, for iPhone 4S reservations last year, it WAS local. It only makes sense the more-or-less same procedure this year would work the same as far as timezone goes.
What if you have a preorder in on apple.com? I get to the screen where you pick the size color and carrier but when it checks my eligibility it stops there. I think it's cos I have one on preorder. I don't want to cancel it just to take a chance my store has it. How can you tell if your store has it??
You must use the Apple Store app and go all the way through check out. Then scroll down and press the button for in store pickup. Then you can type in a zip code, but it will automatically look for stores near you!
