Apple to Launch Personal Pickup for iPhone 5 Tonight

Part of what gives credence to the PST theory is that there is inherently nothing preventing you from getting a phone across the country - who is to say that you aren't willing to travel 100miles to pick-up your phone? It would make sense for it to be a single time for the entire country.
 
just tried to call Apple and they don't accept calls due to high call volume and then hung up...

Totally agree.
 
That's a lie too because they are stil supposed to take the order and either call you or email you when your phone is in stock! They couldn't of all sold out on 1 min, it takes more than that to get to the Check out page!

they show the 32 black in stock.


I just spent 55 minutes on the phone with Apple, 45 of that on hold. They insist that the reservation went live at 10pm local, and that if the option is grayed out the store is out of stock. I argued and said I hadn't even selected a store, but he went and talked to his manager twice and said the same thing each time. What a cluster.

lol (sorry). I was on hold for 35 minutes before the rep answered, went to check, came back 10 minutes later to say the people he needed to check with weren't there. I hope they get the message and update the web site.
 
Would someone with the app please check stores in Maryland/ DC/ Northern VA for the 32 GB (AT&T)? Thanks!
 
The guy I talked to at apple said its 10 pm pacific time.
He also said all stores would have all phones n colors n sizes n carriers.

Thanks! This is seriously messed up. The reservation definitely did not go live.

Was that 32gb for AT&T?
 
Seems like there are only two options here:

1) they launched this system tonight, but the large shipment they expected to hit the US did not come. Hence the system works, but there are no phones loaded in it
2) it's 10pm PST
