Steve will annonce brand new products,! iTV,new iPods, streaming, 7" iPad, iLife, the end of Mac OSX and then he'll get personal and say that he's devoted his life to Apple and the consumers of his life changing products. He'll say that this is the roadmap that he invasioned all these years and that the team he's leaving in charge know the rest of the roadmap and will carry Apple the rest of the journey. He'll cry and then close curtain.

Interesting thought and I would love to see what it does to the stock price, but I don't think that it'll happen yet.

Open standards but Mac only? Give me a break. I have a MBP but won't be able to watch on the Windows machines at work. This is stupid.

Do you have an ipod touch or an iphone? And does your office or somewhere nearby have wifi? Then you can still do it.
That's my plan for tomorrow.

My stupid job has disallowed all video streaming. Grrrrrr!!!

But I plan to go down to the lobby where the nearby staples store has free wifi. HAHAHAAAHAHAAHAAAH!! I'm neva defeated! :D

2) They want to demo something that requires WiFi and don't want the entire WiFi system to be brought down by hundreds of bloggers

I'm guessing (2) could be averted by setting up a private WiFi network with security enabled -- so here is hoping for #1.
.

it's not a matter of apple needing a private wifi network, of course the have that, it a matter of the entire frequency in the the wifi spectrum being overloaded with too much data traffic. the entire wireless 802.11g/n frequency (2.4ghz) is toast with that many people using wifi in such small confines.

I think this might be their first trial. Next Step is to forbid wireless connections (so no live- blogging for developers) so steve can show how high def the iphone 5's front camera is.

Maybe they are going to use cell blockers to shut down everyone's MiFi. Then the tech bloggers would have no reason to set up wifi networks since they won't have internet access. They'd have to have several hops to someone across the street to get access.

Just a thought.

What time can one expect it to be finished?

I've got a 1:15 EDT meeting that I'd like to try to push back a little bit.

Very cool news... but I expect it won't run smoothly. Apple has tried this before and it hasn't ever worked out. It is much more difficult for them to do this due to such a remarkable interest in the video (way more than a Google press conference, to those who might try to make a comparison).

But hey, maybe they've got the hardware to pull it off this time.
