TV is the worst thing Apple makes. It's glitchy, inconsistent, confusing, and just doesn't work most of the time I try it. Old units, new units, doesn't matter, they're all irritating to use.

My $40 Roku has been utterly flawless, still allows me to AirPlay (and Android friends can cast), and oh yeah it's $40.

The only app that I haven't been able to get to work right on said Roku is, surprise surprise, the Apple TV app. No sound when attempting to play movies. Never been able to get it to work.

I have a TCL tv that has Apple TV on it and it does work.
Wonder if this will muck it up. Hope not.

I think the Apple TV Experience SUCKS! Really! Now it takes 2-3 clicks just to turn to my favorite option = OFF!

Sorrrrrry, but it is impossible to switch channels easily on Hulu Live TV.

The Apple TeeVee ts basically a device to count Ad Data, and force me to watch Ad's with no option to fast forward...

And.. now everything will be funneled to the Apple Channel, with its Aweful Noise automatically playing...

Really Apple? What happened to the original genius concept of a 4 year old, just poking at it - and IT WORKS?

At least the Hulu Live TV app is not crashing like it was doing, but still there is NO Audio when I change channels (to avoid commercials!) until the fugking Ad tagger system counts, analyzes, and realizes Ive changed channels! (Yes Ive deleted, rebooted, and reinstalled everything on both Apple TeeVee's - and IT STILL SUCKS! Really!)

Oh Boy - and "All money still goes to APPLE" Yet they want more...

I bought my first Apple TV and it's amazing, it crazy how comically better the UI and smoothness is compared to literally everything else. The AirPods Pro integration with Spatial Audio makes late night TV feel like going to the Movies.

Sounds a lot like your issue is with the Hulu app being trash and nothing to do with AppleTV itself.

I read the title and thought for a second that they were going to be removing all apps from the Apple TV itself and had a bit of a panic attack. 😂
I think that actually would be a good thing but the companies would never go for it. They wouldn't be able to mine your data.

If the entire UI was via the apple tv app and all services had to have channels, it would be much smoother for the user.

Ugh I don’t like the TV app as a storefront. It’s so hard to find things. And there’s no wishlist feature.

Remember when the App Store had a wishlist?

I don’t understand why Apple keeps removing that feature from things. Sometimes I‘m interested in a movie or tv show, but not yet. Now I’ll have to rely on CheapCharts to manage my wishlist.

If they remove those tabs from the iTunes Store app, then they might as well remove the iTunes Store app entirely and house music purchases within the Music app, which is one thing that does make sense.

The ads. Apple wants you to look at the ads.
This. It’s gross and pervading every app. The Books app now relegates the books you’re currently reading to a tiny strip at the top of Read Now, and 95% of the screen is massive ads for books to buy. Even though there’s literally 2 tabs for store content (Book Store and Audiobooks).

And if you ever set up a new device without signing into an Apple ID, or you don’t subscribe to any Apple services, you get bombarded for weeks with nagging in Settings and elsewhere. Free trial for Arcade. Free trial for TV. Free trial for Apple Music. Subscribe to iCloud+. On and on.

When websites breathlessly report that "Apple Services is growing at a phenomenal rate...", this is what they're talking about.

The service-ification of all things Apple.

It's annoying when you're already paying a pretty penny for the hardware.

This will suck beans. The TV app is HORRIBLE to navigate, both for browsing and buying content, and to find something that you own to watch. I don't want a bunch of crap from other apps clogging up my view, and the lack of a simple 'watch list' is a glaring omission (up next doesn't cut it). If you want to go back and watch an earlier episode, it's not remotely intuitive.

And don't get me started on Autoplay.

Reminds me to go out and turn off autoupdate on all of mine.

So, they are getting rid of the movies - iTunes and tv shows - iTunes apps on the TV Box and having them live within the TV App that also includes the TV+ originals and many other channels? ...currently you can already BUY/Rent from iTunes/Apple within the TV App and see your Purchased Content there. ...and you can watch Trailers in the TV App now that they are removing the Trailers App.

And on iOS iTunes will just revert back to Tunes/Music? maybe it will have Music Videos that can be PURCHASED only and if you want you can just use Music App for your subscription listening.

***I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that if you purchased a movie on iTunes, and a studio has removed that and added a NEW listing, that when you ask Siri or Search for that movie it would show the currently available-to-purchase movie AND your old purchased movie. Right now I can't ask Siri to play Alien, Alines, etc and see my purchases unless I go into Purchased section. I feel that Siri should be smart enough to know there are multiple versions that have been sold on iTunes/Apple****
