Seems to me that this is one of the first cycles in a while were we keep getting conflicting information. I'm trying to take that as a positive sign. Perhaps Apple has finally found a way to actually distract its supply chain and not get its flagship products leaked months before its released.. Although I'm not holding by breath on that.
What would be most exciting is if Apple is planning to release the next iPhone in June, with sales beginning in the fall. Presumably that "may" allow the design and features of the new device to still be in house, like the watch. We heard rumors that there was a watch, but no one had any idea what the watch looked like.. Maybe this next design will actually be substantial, just no one has seen it yet. Obviously it sounds more like wishful thinking, but I suppose anything is possible.
If that's not the case, then I disagree vehemently with their decision to add on features to the bigger screened phone and leave them out of the smaller flagship. A lot of people don't want bigger phones. For many, the + is too big. It doesn't fit in pants pockets comfortably. For women, it's not problem. They carry purses. For a lot of guys, it's a big problem. We don't wear belt clips anymore. How much of an impact would it ultimately have on their sales? Maybe this cycle, not so much.. But all it does is continue to solidify the perception that Apple continues to strive for more and more profit, even if the decision is not in the best interests of its loyal customers. Sell the same phone in the smaller model than the bigger one. If one wants a bigger screen, with a bigger battery, the $100.00 difference can at least be justified. Stripping major features and making them exclusives to the bigger model in search of more profit is not "thinking different." It's acting like every other behemoth corporation who has more interest in pleasing the market than their own customers.
