It's translucent, not transparent, although at an angle between the stairs, possibly, but that has nothing to do with it being made out of glass.
 
just as long there isn't an altar with Steve Jobs suspended above it (in a clear glass obelisk) I doubt anyone will be shocked.

Steve is gone, move on.

Don't ask WWSD (What Would Steve Do), instead ask WSAD (What Should Apple Do). As time goes on, the answers to those two questions will seriously diverge - and only the answer to WSAD is the right one.
