lol What if that's the finished cube with the white on it.

Also, I don't think there's a single store in Florida that has multiple levels...Florida is really populated - we need a flagship store here (or at least a bigger store with multiple levels that is somewhat flagship)!

I mean, Japan has at least 3 or so stores with the glass staircases.

Unlike the SoHo and 14th Street NYC locations this Flagship store is only 1 level. You just gotta go down a level to get to it

You people are so annoying. Anything that dosen't directly create cashflow is useless to you all. I hate america.

Apple is actually a very primitive-thinking company. They just want things that look nice and are attractive.

It's on the cutting edge, yet the intention is very primitive - to attract based on beauty and quality.

It's a "RADICAL NEW DESIGN!!!"

Why spend millions of dollars renovating a relatively new landmark into practically the same Architecturally dull glass box?
The previous design looked better as it had presence, this one blends too much into the background.

Really? When did you get a sneak peek at it? A drawing of what it should look like does not count.

occupy wall street should swarm the place, l0l.

I believe NYPD has orders to shoot on site when it comes to protecting the Apple store. ;)

A fantastic looking store. It seems awful soon that they had to rebuild it.

maybe it was for practical reasons

Even though the individual glass panels were probably easier to manufacture, one would assume they are likely to lose their sealant over time on the edges, or be more likely to fall out of their metal braces over time ( many years I mean )

I wonder if doing this is actually not just about hubris.

This was the opinion of nearly all at Apple according to the Steve Jobs bio, but in the last year of his life Steve, as always, overruled them all. I personally think the old look was better, like a faceted jewel.

If you're tired of seeing that same old photo of Jobs on posts, books, tributes, shopping bags, avatars, ... vote this post up!

Steve is gone, move on.

Don't ask WWSD (What Would Steve Do), instead ask WSAD (What Should Apple Do). As time goes on, the answers to those two questions will seriously diverge - and only the answer to WSAD is the right one.

FAO Schwarz is across the street. Bono bought the apartment from Jobs and it wasn't across the street.

No. FAO Schwarz is on the exact same block; the entrance is only steps away from the cube.

The San Remo building is in the Upper West Side, about fifteen blocks up and on the opposite side of Central Park.

Wouldn't the easiest deterrent be to just set up a portable shower out front? It would certainly see off the odiferous copycats that Brisbane has just sent packing.

Looks just like the evil villan in the last James Bond movie with Pierce Brosnan.

On another topic, don't lots of guys look up the skirts of girls with that glass stair case and elevator? There's a good reason why stair cases are not see-through.
