You ever track an iPhone launch shipment on UPS? For that matter, have you ever tracked an iPhone post-launch shipment? They come direct from China. The iPhones only ship a few days early because of capacity; there's much less demand for the TV, so they don't need to have UPS hold them.

You never know for sure what's going to come directly from China.
My 6s, ordered a few minutes after the pre-order began, originated in Ontario, CA as did my 5K iMac and Magic Trackpad. My previous iPhones have always shipped directly from China. You never know.

Well actually, launch day iPhones for the 6 originated in the US. Someone at Apple realized they could save a couple of million dollars by not shipping them from China. Maybe that changed with the 6s, but I know that was the case with my 6. I'm pretty sure that was the case with the iPhone 5 too, but it's been so long I don't quite remember.

So no, Apple product doesn't always ship directly from China. Someone at Apple runs the numbers and sees if it makes financial and logistical sense to not ship them from China.

Mine says Nov2-Nov4th. Are you going in store friday and buy it before or wait?

Maybe... I will go in store Friday.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Why do I think that MacRumors is shoving Apple TV down our throats? Is MacRumors in bed with Apple? The push from MacRumors about Apple TV is downright aggressive. Who cares about Apple TV? No one ever has and no one will in the near future. There has got to be something better to talk about in Apple's product line... or it's a sad thing when there isn't.

I care Apple TV more than iPad or Apple Watch. My priority #1 is iPhone, #2 Mac, #3 Apple TV.

Ontario is UPS's West Coast domestic hub. UPS may have been at capacity, so Apple had it shipped through a third-party freight airline to LAX or ONT then had it entered into the UPS system there. If they want to hold the products, then they usually stock them in Louisville, because it's in the middle of the country.

The trick is to take the packing slip and see if it's 8.5x11 or A4 sized. If it's A4, then it was packed in China. The only non-metric slip I got was for the Watch.

After viewing your profile.. look at your post... I can't believe you keep visiting MacRumors if you hate Apple that much.

I ordered my 64GB one bang on Tuesday 28th here in Australia, as soon as the store button changed to "Buy Now".. My order says delivery 2nd November - So maybe there is a delay on the 64GB versions...
I ordered 64 gig from Sydney a few hours after it went on sale and had the it's on it's way for delivery tommmorrow

Possibly because it's macrumors, not microsoftrumors?

What other new Apple products are going on sale this week?

Still preparing shipment here, even though I chose express delivery last Monday..

Australia here and still sitting on Preparing to ship. It seems odd that Australians receive them on Friday without having to pay for the $15.00 express shipping people have been referring to. Not even sure if that option is available on the Australian Apple store?

Mine is still sat on "Processing Items" but they've now taken the money so fingers crossed I get a despatch notification later for delivery tomorrow.

Update: My order is now "Preparing for Dispatch" :)

Its not a device I'm interested in at the moment, my xbox one is doing a great job in the front room and with the Plex app its great. I'm interested to see how this progresses though. If MS launched an XBOX one app for the Apple TV then its mean streaming from the console (ala Windows 10) to another room and that is something I'd be very interested in :D

The New York Times joined MacRumors this AM with a highly complimentary review. "The best set top box"!

Most interestingly, it now appears that NEW orders for both models of the Apple TV are now showing an earliest delivery of Nov. 4 (this coming Wednesday, six days from now). This represents a slip over the initial delivery dates for overnight shipping. Could this mean that the Apple TV is sold out (at least from the initial stock for the online Apple store)? So, if you haven't yet ordered and still want one as soon as possible it should be better to wait until they are at Best Buy and the local Apple retail stores.
