Whats the difference between 3D touch and force touch?? I think Apple have messed up not including either technology on the remote.
Force touch requires a motorized actuator for the haptic feedback and I suspect that it would be very difficult to add that to a small and thin remote.

This is nonsense. Ordered within 30min of store going live and got a 30th to 02/11 order. It went to preparing before most did but it's still on preparing. System profile not showing details. Now my neighbour ordered in the morning and got a 02/11 - 04/11 and got a shipped notification just.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Why do I think that MacRumors is shoving Apple TV down our throats? Is MacRumors in bed with Apple? The push from MacRumors about Apple TV is downright aggressive. Who cares about Apple TV? No one ever has and no one will in the near future. There has got to be something better to talk about in Apple's product line... or it's a sad thing when there isn't.

Are you seriously criticizing an apple enthusiast website for covering the launch of a new apple product enthusiastically?

Immediate order from Germany just shipped half an hour ago with TNT Express due to arrive tomorrow. They are probably coming in from Prague again or from the NL hub.

Awesome, what info did you put into the fedex app to find this out? Did you type in the order number, phone number on account etc.?
I didn't search anything, the FedEx app already has all of my information, But you should be able to search with your phone number as a reference.

Still nothing on my expedited order. Guess I have to pick one up in store tomorrow and return the other one next week.

You do know that Apple ships these things from China, right? In order to be delivered by Friday, they have to be in the US by Thursday evening. Since it takes about 18 hours to travel from China, it needs to ship within the next few hours.
I don't know how Apple does it or UPS I guess...by ex girlfriend preordered the 4S back 2011 and it didn't leave China until 3AM the day it was supposed to be delivered. She got it at about 5 pm that day. Im not disagreeing with you, but thats the what the tracking said lol

Apple is always conservative with arrival dates, so launch day orders should arrive at the early part of the range.

I ordered early morning Monday, currently showing PFS, with delivery 11/2 -11/4. I'm hoping I get "upgraded" to delivery no later than 11/2 (but keeping fingers crossed for 10/30 or 10/31!)

I can confirm that while your status reads "Preparing for shipment", it's possible FEDEX already has a status and estimated delivery for it. Click this FEDEX link and in the reference section, type the PHONE NUMBER you placed the order with, the DESTINATION COUNTRY and ZIP CODE if you are in the US and your shipment status will populate.

Yes, at some point they were shipped from China. That doesn't mean they are coming from China directly to your home. Ha! They typically are stocked stateside and will ship from a hub in Tennessee, fly 4 hours in any direction, be put on a truck and be at your home Friday. I've had mine leave the TN hub as late as 1 am and received it in Arizona by 9 am that same day.

My overnight in the US is still Preparing. My FedEx tracking account still does not show my delivery in their system, but it appears webbuzz's US order is shipped (but not updated on Apple's site).

I'm in the UK and mine is preparing for dispatch too. Do you think anyone in the UK will get it tomorrow? We had no option for next-day delivery. I think only the US can choose what delivery method they want.

I'm in UK mate and my current order status is 'Preparing for Dispatch' when I type this. I believe this will change soon and hopefully to get it by tomorrow, as people in Netherlands, Germany got confirmation about delivery tomorrow!

Do anyone know what carrier Apple in UK uses to deliver?

UKmail / DPD / UPS are the main ones.

It will update tonight if it is for delivery tomorrow. It needs to hit the main hub of the carrier and the dispatch down the country or up depending were you are.

Thanks for this, even the current status was updated very lately last night. I know DPD does delivery on Saturday I'm not sure about others? do they deliver on Saturday as 'Standard Delivery' was the only option when I pre-ordered.
