Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Why do I think that MacRumors is shoving Apple TV down our throats? Is MacRumors in bed with Apple? The push from MacRumors about Apple TV is downright aggressive. Who cares about Apple TV? No one ever has and no one will in the near future. There has got to be something better to talk about in Apple's product line... or it's a sad thing when there isn't.
Well what do you know? Someone complaining about MacRumors pumping Apple stuff down our throats. How ridiculous you are sounding. This IS an Apple-Enthusiasts website, or did you forget? The TV release is relevant and I'll bet if you visit an Apple store right now you will see banners and promotions for the TV. If it's not your bag then simply don't post here.

But since you feel MR is "Shoving the TV down our throats" then maybe they should be shoving Samsung's products, Microsoft's Surface stuff or Google's Android OS down our throats instead.....

Over 36 Hour's now, at preparing for shipment, don't think I will be getting it tomorrow.

Ottawa, Canada.

Update; approaching 48 hours now, no change, ********.

Thanks for this, even the current status was updated very lately last night. I know DPD does delivery on Saturday I'm not sure about others? do they deliver on Saturday as 'Standard Delivery' was the only option when I pre-ordered.

I can't speak for UPS, but UKMail and DPD do Saturday deliveries.

if it doesn't go out for delivery tomorrow then they will try Saturday. UK don't pay for any delivery, normally Saturday delivery is like £4-£9 depending on carrier, so I can't see why they wouldn't delivery on Saturday.

So I preordered immediately when it went up, and I wont get it until next week? Im thinking this is a trick by apple to pad the sales this weekend. Think about how many people, like me, preordered but will walk into a store Friday and buy one. Thereby doubling the numbers. Sneaky sneaky sneaky...

Where do you live? If you live in the USA/Canada it's still possible it will change to shipped. Local time here 2.30 pm in the Netherlands my status got updated with "Shipped". We are currently 5 hours ahead of New York

Another 'Preparing for Dispatch' here in England. Not sure whether this will apply to Apple orders but I recently had a delivery from another company via DPD on a Sunday. News about the BBC iPlayer app confirms my decision to upgrade.

Did you receive an email or did you manually check?

Belgium here

Sad, preordered and still processing. Paid for express delivery. Don't want to pick it up in store but may need to cancel and do just that.

I am going to the store tomorrow morning and trying to buy one. Too late to cancel my order but ill just return it when that one arrives.

I have faith in Tim Cook's logistic genius and fully expect my Apple TV to arrive on Friday. That being said, I am not a happy camper having paid a $17 express shipping fee only to later find out they will be available in stores.

Yep. I don't think the apple.com status will change until later this afternoon or later tonight.

Just checked FEDEX my shipments, delivering 30 October.

Is anyone who ordered the first day and did NOT pay for overnight deliver getting notifications OTHER than "preparing..." yet?

I ordered mine around 11 am on the first day and I am still getting "Preparing for Shipment" (I did not pay the extra).

I think I'm going to visit the Apple Store in DE this weekend to pick one up (and save sales tax). That way, I'll be able to see if anyone posts their reviews about it prior to me picking it up.

It's THE new product that Apple is shipping right now. It's been years since the AppleTV has been updated and the storage and app store is a radical change. (Even in the AppleTV 1 had 40GB/160GB storage options).

It's going to put TV game machines in many peoples homes who don't have them.

The app store on the iPhone changed everything (exaggeration) and this could too.

If there is a web browser app available, this could change a lot of things.

If they "crack" streaming and/or cutting the cord this could change even more.
(I don't see this for a while yet).

Or if someone else does, if Sling ( https://www.sling.com ) does an app that allows ESPNs, AMC, CNN, ABCfamily, TNT and Disney for people who don't have cable, that'll be interesting too. We've got some of those channels on AppleTV now, but you have to log into though your cableTV account to get access.

I ordered at 10am on Monday, my credit card was billed at 7pm on Monday and I had the status change on Wednesday around 1am with "Preparing for shipment". But I am pretty sure I will get it on Monday. If I get it on Friday it will be great but I don't count on it.

So when is the AppleTV app store launching?
and will we be able to get apps via iTunes or only on the TV?

Seems like it's got to go live in less than 24 hours, right?
