Get a Mac Mini with a big External HDD. Store all that stuff on there and use Home Sharing to put it up on the ATV. This is what I do, and it makes for fast instant access.
Looked all over can't find a Mini for under $200 so guess I will stick with ATV. Home Sharing requires a ATV anyway, and no Apps or games.

after the PITA waiting for my keyboard & trackpad II right now, I'm just going to wait and pick it up at my nearest apple store when it comes out.

the trackpad/keyboard didn't make sense to order online b.c they were available to order online the same day as in store. This makes a little more sense as it is an actual preorder for launch day delivery would be my guess.

I'm going to go with the 32GB option. I don't foresee playing too many games on this - I have an xbox 360 for that. If I run out of space somehow, so be it, I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I'm also going to just buy it in-store using ApplePay to get that Discover Card 10% cashback, which is a pretty sweet deal. I doubt it will be sold out on launch day or that there will be crazy lines or anything.

Not getting one right away. I'll wait and see how the app situation develops. If it gets apps for Amazon Video and/or Vudu, I'll probably get one to consolidate the number of streaming boxes in my house.

Neither 32 or 64 would be enough to support any kind of live TV recording.

I'm not convinced that you will be able to record live tv at all. Playstation has a service called Playstation Vue and you can subscribe to TV through it. It uses all cloud storage for all the shows you follow. They stay in the cloud for 21 days from the day released. I wouldnt be surprised if Apple did something like this using cloud storage instead

I have a PS4 for games, I'm not going to use 64GBs of storage for streaming apps. Only going to 3-4 services

32GB for me

I'm going for the 64GB. Since the last Apple TV is the single Apple product I've owned the longest, I figure it's best to go for longevity.

Hopefully they will update hardware more frequently. Wishful thinking, I am sure.

No 4K yet? No for me and will continue to use my ATV3 until the next version.

As excited as I am, I'm not sure what place the ATV4 will have in my life.

I can get Amazon Prime, Netflix and BBC iPlayer on my Kindle Fire TV, which is a really nicely designed system. Admittedly I can't do voice search on Netflix on there: is that available on ATV4?

The Kindle has the ITV app, but you can't pay to remove adverts like you can in iOS. Will you be able to on the ATV4?

The Kindle doesn't have NowTV, I think the ATV4 will do. Will it be Siri-searchable?

The sensible think is clearly to wait till it comes out and read the reviews. So holding fire for now. (Geddit?!?!)

Without Amazon Prime it's no use to me as it is one of the main services I use.

what would the main reason to get the 64GB over the 32GB ? When we buy media via the apple tv does it stream it and keep it in the cloud or does it download it to the apple tv ? Also how big will the apps be ?

I would also like someone to convince me that 64GB is worth it. Otherwise I may just go with the 32GB

Many also believe that, when they finally get around to their TV Service, the box may also serve to record live broadcasts.

I'm a "more is always better" kind of guy, so I'll be getting the 64. It's only $50 more, after all.
A Comcast X1 DVR holds ~500GB of HD video. 32 and 64 are next to nothing, though streaming will probably be the primary use of the TV service.

No 4K
No Bluetooth 4.2

It's going to be outdated in an year, 4K doesn't bother me because I'm using a 1080p but just something to keep in mind

I don't think there will be a big push for 4k until broadcast heads in that direction. Regardless, I'm pretty sure that they can update the software to support 4k and bluetooth 4.2. The new Apple TV has the HDMI 1.4 spec which supports 4k. Additionally, 4k streaming eats a lot of bandwidth. The iPhone 6 had its bluetooth firmware upgraded to 4.2 when iOS 9 was released. All of this is speculation of course, however, I have a feeling there won't be a hardware upgrade for at least 2 years.
