Apple TV 4 UK Pre-Order Thread

Dispatched! Although can't see a tracking number and when I click on the 'track delivery' link it says delivery info not availble.
Worryingly, on the app, delivery date still says 30th-3rd Nov.

Is it common for Apple to send items out of order like this, in that people above seem to be waiting for shipment despite ordering before others who have had theirs despatched? Seems an odd way to do things, unless other aspects are taken into account, such as geography etc.

it's normal for a lot of companies for items to be dispatched late at night. Most companies dispatch items during afternoon/night for trunking to local hubs over night.

If it was in Liecester then it's still at the Syncreon warehouse.
 
looks like most orders are changing to shipped around 5-6pm local time. I ordered at around half 9 on monday morning and it's still PFD. Hopefully that'll change in a few hours.

As discussed earlier in this thread, Apple UK use Syncreon for their logistics, and their main distribution centre is at Hinckley in Leicestershire. This is less than an hour's drive from me, so although my 32GB ATV when to PFD at about 10:45, it probably won't dispatch until later this evening.

Pretty much spot on. Syncreon will release further away products earlier, for example orders in Aberdeen will probably have been released earlier today so that they can get on a cargo flight. If there is an overnight wagon going somewhere where there is an order then they won't be released until then. If it is local (like you) then it will probably be released late tonight or in the early hours and will just be loaded onto a van to the nearest delivery depo.

Logistics is a complicated game, my family have worked in it for years and you will be amazed at how often the obvious solution isn't always the easiest or best.

If yours is currently in PDF status, I'm guessing its been sorted in carrier hub's waiting to be trunked over night to a local depot.

See my latest post. Syncreon are based in Liecester, so when you see Liecester on your fork it usually means it's in the Syncreon out going orders depot ready to be picked up by whoever is picking up each item.
 
Just spoke to Apple as I'm still at PFD.
They could not tell me anything new that the website doesn't already say.
Was hoping for a glimmer of hope but sadly no.

Ahh I see.

I was guessing going by his information he had provided. Assuming if he had the DPD tracking number and it said Leicester it would be in there new 'super hub'

Taking a wee seat in this thread, mine still preparing for dispatch (Scotland)
 
I ordered at 16:24 on Monday and my order changed to dispatched at 17:00, being delivered by DPD. Good luck to everyone else, hopefully we'll all get to play this weekend :)

Not sure why I'm so hyped for this really. iPhones don't get me like this. Must be that I've waited since gen 3 for a new Apple TV.

On the Apple store, all new orders are now showing delivery for Mon 2nd Nov. Looks like they have plenty in stock.
