Sorry but it made me laugh so hard😂 yeah ONE lucky person out of thousands, may be millions..it’s like hitting mini-lottery. That’s o.k if you already ordered it will come, eventually.I just checked my front porch - mine didn’t arrive yet….![]()

No matters how great it may looks, someone always not happy☺️People wanted a redesign and they get it but still somehow complain
I think the new design is plenty nice. It reminds me of the Gen 2 control, which I wildly preferred to the Siri remote.i am guessing they went with easy usage over a nice design this time around
It’s always the one button that no other remote can do that fails too.
I've seen uglier. And call me crazy, but I prefer function in my remotes rather than aesthetics if I have to choose one.I swear that is still the ugliest remote I've ever seen for an entertainment device.
I *think* it will act just like the old Menu button - ie a hierarchical up button, rather than a back-to-whatever-you-were-on-last button, which I’ve always thought was pretty pointless. Please tell me that’s not a back button 🤦🏽♂️
For the most part, agreed. But I think the new remote is compelling. I have/had the 4KTV and bought just the new remote. Then someone gave me the bright idea to sell the whole unit. For about $10 more, I’m getting the new Apple TV4K and the new remote as opposed to just having bought the remote.I'm still bummed about it not getting a better performance boost. In some ways it's a step backward. It does have a marginally better CPU, but the A10X has a 30% higher metal score than the A12. I'm sure it's a fine device, but there isn't really any compelling reason to upgrade if you have a Apple TV 4K already, since the remote can be had separately.
I guess we hurry up and wait for the bigger update.
And the ability to see the controls. Right now I’ll press what I think is the right button only to find it’s upside down in my hand. Black with a black highlight - whoever thought that was ever a good idea?i am guessing they went with easy usage over a nice design this time around
The previous "menu" button in practice worked/works like a back button, so I think it's clearer thisaways.I *think* it will act just like the old Menu button - ie a hierarchical up button, rather than a back-to-whatever-you-were-on-last button, which I’ve always thought was pretty pointless.
That's just for frame rate and SDR/HDR right? I don't think it has anything to do with the output resolutionI think you have to turn “Match Content” on under Video & Audio in Settings
You'll never will on this site. You can’t please everyone every time
Best remote ever. TiVo slide. Anyone who has one knows.
Correct. I hated the previous remote. I will get one of the new ones for my birthday from our daughter and I honestly can't wait. The remote was ok as far as buttons but every time I picked it up it was always the wrong end then I have gone all the way back to a show that I would have to FF back to where I was at originally. No biggie and no loss of time, just an annoyance on my part.I disagree. I think it’s clean, has hierarchy, good for no-look, and solves every issue the previous remote had except for no way to change inputs.
it is funny, this. One lucky person gets the new iPad. Then a new lucky person gets their new iMac. Now another lucky person has got their new AppleTV 4K. I am humbly asking Tim Cook & Co. to be the lucky person that gets the new MacBook Pro 16" with what ever new M series chip they have in it.Sorry but it made me laugh so hard😂 yeah ONE lucky person out of thousands, may be millions..it’s like hitting mini-lottery. That’s o.k if you already ordered it will come, eventually.
I’ve never thought of the Magic Mouse as ergonomic. 😬I definitely wanted a redesign but was hoping for more of an actual overhaul inspired by something like a Magic Mouse; filling the hand with a much more ergonomic shape and with a much larger touchpad. Instead they chose even harder edges, same tiny size, and a smaller touch area. So of course I don’t like it. It also looks like a knockoff of the $19 Apple TV remote, completely missing their usual visual refinement.
