Tell that to Charter they tell me it is a glitch than again this is Charter a cable company based on lies.

Charter has stated that they don't have an agreement with HBO yet for Apple TV. You can't base anything on what a single CSR tells you who doesn't know what is going on. The fact is Charter is the only company that has a deal with HBO for HBOGo that isn't allowed on Apple TV. It is truly horrible that they can't reach a deal with HBO.

Can anyone tell me whether AppleTV can push AirPlay to another target (e.g. an Airport Express?) One of the reasons I'm keen on iTunes Radio is so I can broadcast to multiple rooms during parties from my laptop without using the airfoil workaround, but would be easier yet if I could push straight from an ATV (or, you know, my iPhone...).

Does anyone know when Apple will update the Remote App?...

I'd like to see an update for the Remote App which would allow you to directly pick what you want to watch, instead of using the stupid fake trackpad. I'd rather it function the same as when you use it to control iTunes on a computer with it.

iTunes Radio on Apple TV could be quite handy, as it is already connected to my main receiver and a good set of speakers.

The past few days I had just been using AirPlay via iPhone or iTunes to send it to Apple TV. I guess the pro here is that you can now use the native interface to rate songs, etc.

I hate to break it to you buddy, but it is not a glitch. It was a conscious decision by Charter.

For example, I have Comcast. They support HBO Go on xbox 360 and Apple tv. However, HBO Go does not work on Roku. And that's just what it is, by decision.

But that is not what Charter is telling me and why Roku over Apple TV? HBO Go works for Charter customers on Roku don't they know Apple TV is better? Seems like someone is lying about the glitch.

This can already be done from the app. You need to go into the Library/Computer section and from there you can view all or actually search for specific items.

Hopefully they improved the caching performance... I hate renting a movie from iTunes and then being informed that it will be 3h:30m before I can start watching it... even with it set to 720p on a 25M connection. Fortunately I have no such issues with Netflix, Amazon, etc.

I've also just noticed this too. Within the past several day's it takes a while for movies to stream. I wonder if it has anything to do with the release of iOS 7 and the massive hit Apple's servers must be under?

Charter has made it clear:

We're excited about the advancements on Apple TV too! At this time Charter has not has not launched the HBOGO app. Our Product and Marketing teams will continue to work on getting access available, however, we do not have a launch date yet. You can still use HBOGO by accessing it through AirPlay Mirroring (instruction here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5209). Thanks for your patience.

I wish Airplay would improve on Apple TV I always get connection errors, hopefully they will just add Amazon Prime on Apple TV to make it easier because Airplay is terrible.

It will not kill your battery for one thing since it doesn't stream from your phone. And the advantage is you don't need to be logged into the Apple TV with your account to play a movie/tv show you have purchased. So it should work well with big families or people coming over to your house who want to play content. Of course, I haven't tested this so we will have to see how it really works.

Thanks! You're right, this should make a big difference in the battery life of the device, since it doesn't have to stream content while viewing. Also, being able to go to a friend's house and share a movie on their AppleTV that I've bought is great!

Blargh. I left it updating when I went to the shop, and came back to a blinking light and a need to restore it through iTunes... I'm supposed to be watching Senna on Netflix...

Oh that's a great idea. A relative mirror image of the Apple TV UI displayed on the app, particularly on iPad's larger screen, could be much more intuitive. I do agree that I'm not too keen on the trackpad myself. I find using the remote for basic navigation simpler.

Oh and while they're at it, please make a new flat iOS 7 icon to match :)
