dude i hope that nba league pass plays commercials...i hate the be right back page with the repetitive beat always going

I live in the UK and I have a GamePass subscription and I signed in and tried watching a game and it said you have to be subscribed!!! Seems like there's an issue with the UK version...

"The Apple TV's existing NFL Now channel was today revamped, changing the name to 'NFL'"

Let's hope HBO, Showtime, etc. follow suit. "Now" is starting to become the new "i".

since NFL is in bed with DirectTV, no way we would be so lucky to get it streaming live games like MLB does.

Not really a football fan but my family is. I normally watch shows delayed anyway via the DVR so I can skip commercials. Would this option be commercial free or do you still have to watch commercials?

Does anyone know how long you have to wait after the game is over to access the on-demand re-play?

I was hoping that we could just watch the games live and was ready to hand my money over to the NFL, but now I have to re-think things. If I can access the game within half an hour of it being over, then I might subscribe, but if it's several hours or a day, then forget about it.

The Apple TV's existing NFL Now channel was today revamped, changing the name to "NFL" and adding support for Game Pass subscriptions. Through the updated channel, NFL fans who have a Game Pass subscription can watch on-demand NFL games and live out-of-market preseason games on the Apple TV for the first time.

In late July, the NFL did away with its existing NFL Game Rewind program, which previously gave customers in the United States access to on-demand NFL games after they aired on broadcast television. Game Rewind was replaced with Game Pass, with access being added to the Apple TV and the NFL Mobile app on the iPhone and the iPad.

The prior NFL Now channel that was on the Apple TV was limited to historic videos, breaking news, and game highlights rather than complete games as the NFL's contracts with television providers have previously prevented it from showing full game content on the television through the Apple TV.

Game Pass includes live access to most out-of-market preseason games, aside from those that are nationally broadcast, plus on-demand regular season, playoff, and Super Bowl games that are available after they air on broadcast television.

Game Pass is available in the United States, Bermuda, Antigua, the Bahamas, any U.S. territories, possessions and commonwealths (including American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands), and Mexico. An NFL Game Pass subscription is priced at $99.99 and access to content will last until July 31, 2016.

NFL fans outside of the United States also have access to an international "Game Pass" service that offers up live games and on-demand content, which confusingly shares the same name as the new service available in the United States.

(Thanks, Dale!)

Who cares if it's not live regular season game. Yarn!

Just the Apple way. Give you part of something, call it ground breaking, charge the heck out of you and then next year give a little more so they can do it all over again....all the while never providing what others have provided for years at a lower price.

I would totally pay directv, but since it is offered where I live I would have to have their TV service to get just sunday ticket.
I'm in the same boat; fortunately my girlfriend is still in college, so we just used her email address to sign up for it. They just opened up streaming-only services to college students at any school, so if you know anyone in college, make friends and go for it.

well that sucks... I'm sure apple is prepping a nice package with nfl as the directv sole source expires at the end of this year.

Nope, it was extended until 2020 I believe.

That said, don't blame Apple or DirecTV for these stipulations, that is 100% the decision of the NFL and the deals with the major broadcast networks.

YAWN! How about adding Apple Music to Apple TV or another free Movie/TV Streaming service there are many for free and Amazon Prime not sure anymore who Apple TV Streaming is for. It least add SHUDDER Horror Movie streaming to Apple TV.

Apple TV has long way to go compared to ROKU as a hardware and the streaming service.

Apple Music is coming.
Crackle is already available

Apple TV is for Apple users just like Amazon Fire TV is for Amazon users.

Guess it's using a European VPN with the International Game Pass for me. You know, if the NFL offered a live-streaming service in the U.S. that was accessible to everybody (and not just people who can't get DirecTV), I'd probably pay about $300 for it.

The NFL makes their pricing policies, not Apple.
