Not relevant to this discussion. The NFL is selling you a loaf of day old bread and claiming it's 'fresh!' They're the ones retaining exclusivity to their overpriced Sunday Ticket, not Apple. MLB is light years beyond the NFL in terms of fan friendly access to their LIVE content. I pay $25 a month in-season for MLB.TV, which gives me access to both H/A HD broadcasts of every.single.game on my iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, PS3, Amazon Fire. I cut the cord a few years ago, and MLB was right there with me. This year the HD is friggin' pristine. There's zero drop-off.

The NFL *chooses* how they stream its content to you. It chooses to bend you over the barrel and call it a date. They're the greedy bastards, specific to this instance, not Apple.

Same greed as Apple, the instance really doesn't matter. Is the glass half full or half empty.

Apple isn't denying fans their capacity to watch games. This is at best an apples and orangutans comparison. Apple, charges more for their products, but yeah, I don't mind paying a few dollars more for a better machine (inside and out). Not a huge fan of the Apple TV, but it's still light years better than Amazon Fire which runs out of RAM frequently, and Roku was laid out interface-wise by somebody with dyslexia. But hate away at the closed ecosystem, I guess. Still, has nothing to do with the NFL and their hilarious levels of greed.

It's 2015. Still no live streaming of NFL games online. MLB, NHL, and NBA have been doing it for years.

But it would be a valid comparison if it was Google, Samsung, etc. right?

Very encouraging!
I emailed NFL Game Pass Support two days ago and now have received confirmation that an update has been rolled out to aTV's to deal with the "unsubscribed" issue - as I'm not at home at the moment I can't say whether it has worked. I'm an International Subscriber to Game Pass in New Zealand so not sure if the same update has been done for the USA, however one would assume so.

Just tried it. Got a new error: "Video Playback Error [object Object]"

Didn't object to the subscription though...

Great! I'll try this evening when I get home (7:34 am here). It should be working by the time the season rolls around regardless

first thing i did was go into setting, main menu and hide this one :D

I've no interest. even if i was able to get it. u guys must spend allot subscribing to Apple TV channels alone.

I don't have cable, so this combined with the international Gamepass gives me all the live NFL I want. It's very welcome.

I just tried for the first time tonight. I get this error too. :(

Edit: After about an hour I tried again, and now it's working fine... It's all working with my gamepass...

So how did you log in for your gamepass? You don't have it through iTunes, right? Is it all done through the activation login? nfl.com/atv?

Yup. nfl.com/atv and typed in the code. Still working today with all of the last nights Pre-season Week 4 games.

in the Netherlands i was not able to see the live games (pre-season 4 last night) on ATV, I received the error code 7800. I can only watch the full games (not live) and condensed games the day after on ATV.
I can only watch the live games on my imac or ipad

If it helps at all, it looks like the same thing is happening for those of us who are legitimately in other countries. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Yes i got the same problem, activated on nfl.com/appletv and when trying to watch a game It will ask me to subscribe but im already subscribed

Anybody get this to work with adfreetime?

Not as of yet. I'm sure it's something they have to enable on their end. I twitter messaged them and didn't get a reply, but did get one from unblock-us and they said they aren't supporting it yet but implied that it would one day

Any subscribers of the international version getting this to work? UnoTelly user here. I set my primary DNS to the same one I use on my computer (no secondary DNS option on the Apple TV), and even signed into the iTunes UK-based store account that I created a while back to be able to download the international-version of NFL Game Pass onto my iPad, but when I go to play anything, it comes up with the "Subscribe to NFL Game Pass" screen, and shows a $99.99 price (that sounds like the US dollar pricing). If I click on the "Purchased through iTunes? Restore" link, I get the error "We've run into a problem - Unable to connect to the iTunes Store"

Update: FWIW, it looks like I can still use the NFL Game Pass app on my iPad (via iTunes UK account) and use AirPlay that way. Haven't tested it (yet) with a live game. So I guess that will be my backup plan. It's possible that the usability will be better this way versus navigating through plays directly on the Apple TV, but I am curious if playing games directly from the Apple TV would provide a picture quality improvement, as this method usually provides less-than-broadcast-HD quality.

The Apple TV's existing NFL Now channel was today revamped, changing the name to "NFL" and adding support for Game Pass subscriptions. Through the updated channel, NFL fans who have a Game Pass subscription can watch on-demand NFL games and live out-of-market preseason games on the Apple TV for the first time.

In late July, the NFL did away with its existing NFL Game Rewind program, which previously gave customers in the United States access to on-demand NFL games after they aired on broadcast television. Game Rewind was replaced with Game Pass, with access being added to the Apple TV and the NFL Mobile app on the iPhone and the iPad.

The prior NFL Now channel that was on the Apple TV was limited to historic videos, breaking news, and game highlights rather than complete games as the NFL's contracts with television providers have previously prevented it from showing full game content on the television through the Apple TV.

Game Pass includes live access to most out-of-market preseason games, aside from those that are nationally broadcast, plus on-demand regular season, playoff, and Super Bowl games that are available after they air on broadcast television.

Game Pass is available in the United States, Bermuda, Antigua, the Bahamas, any U.S. territories, possessions and commonwealths (including American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands), and Mexico. An NFL Game Pass subscription is priced at $99.99 and access to content will last until July 31, 2016.

NFL fans outside of the United States also have access to an international "Game Pass" service that offers up live games and on-demand content, which confusingly shares the same name as the new service available in the United States.

(Thanks, Dale!)

Anyone else having problems restoring game pass? I bought it on iPhone and now when I go to restore on Apple TV, it says it can't connect to iTunes Store but it's the only app on atv that can't connect
