Here's hoping the remote isn't complete garbage on this one.

Each to their own.
I find it perfect and the design is sublime!

Same. Aside from games-powering CPU/GPU upgrade... what else?

HDMI 2.1 essential for seemless for auto frame rate switching and SDR HDR DV switching, 120 fps and eARC

WiFi6

120 fps UI and maybe 4K 120 fps for future film for example Gemini Man. iTunes Extras could include the cinematic 120 fps 4K version which is reported as being absolutely stunning!

Would be nice to have the entire iTunes film library update from Dolby Digital to a high bit rate Dolby Digital+

A12X chip would be incredible whilst the future A13X / A14X would be insane :)

It would be nice to have AV1 hardware decoding but it wasn’t in a13, so we will see. They could have added to a13x since it is released later, but then again it might even stick with a12... I would think this would be more of a requirement for an upgraded Apple TV than enabling HDMI 2.1 hardware. At this point that is still going to be expensive and there is nothing out on the market besides TVs that have it anyway. I would prefer they waited till fall to upgrade a new one with more features. I think, that they will just do a small spec update, but otherwise keep everything the same and don’t even call it a different name

Real curious what the new Apple TV will bring us.

I hope it buffers. What could be more fun than watching a movie when the internet goes out and the movie stalls?

I gave up on the new remote years ago. I use an old aluminum remote, an Apple Bluetooth keyboard and a game controller.

USB-C iPod Touch and Apple TV remotes maybe.

USB C would be cool, but neither device needs that much power or speed.

Edited to say: They will stick with lightning because it is thinner.

Why would 10 gig even be needed? Even 8K video barely saturates 100Mbit. Gigabit is fine.

Getting the high score on the Internet Speedtest App. You should learn to be more mindlessly competitive.

The iPod touch product is super interesting as that is still rocking an old chip, has no Touch or Face ID system and is the only 4 inch device still actively sold. I don’t need one, but I’d be interested to see what they do to update such a device.
I could see it being a gaming centric device, slightly larger display, latest A13 chip and sits above the existing line in price and functionality. Could also tie into the new :apple:TV as a gaming accessory?

I'm hoping for a neXt generation Apple Watch. The model released a few months ago had me suspicious - as so few changes were announced.

Something to think about, why would they label it 'Apple Watch Series X bands' if they were not a new design for a new generation?

Generation X baby.

Because the X is a ”fill in the blank,” same as it is for every other new entry in the database.

I'd love an Apple TV that works with the HomePods a little better. The fact that you don't get system audio when browsing the menu is ridiculous to me. If you look at them weird the AppleTV will resort back to TV audio. I was dumb enough to buy a pair of them for stereo output, and I'd like them to actually work as a sound bar replacement

Would that require new hardware?

I'd like to see a non-hidden usb port (for service and display out), 10 gb ethernet, and a larger & better remote.... but those aren't realistic.

Unless it will download video for off-line viewing, what's the benefit of 10GB ethernet over 1GB ethernet?

I don't know why people keep saying eARC, but there is absolutely no use for ARC or eARC on a device that does not have video in and audio output, or has video out and audio input, i.e. not a TV or AV receiver.

The only use of ARC/eARC is when the audio goes the opposite direction from the video, which is never the case on a streamer box or game console like the Apple TV.

Pumped for a new Apple TV. Hopefully it has an improved remote and support for 4K YouTube.

I got the current 4k Apple TV free with a three month subscription to a streaming service. I like it more than the Roku i was using primarily because of the ecosystem integration, but i don’t know what the new now could offer to get me upgrade. Perhaps its aimed at tempting first time Apple TV customers.
