I gave up after 3 episodes. Cringeworthy and maudlin. Does it improve? I just couldn't get past the heaps of exposition.
It just gets better and better the more information and knowledge about the characters you have. Some things that used to feel cringe on the very first episode suddenly feel real when they stop with the attitude for a moment or explain their reasons or show another side.

That’s a complex way of saying “it grows on you”. But I totally get what you mean, I don’t remember when I hooked in, but 3 episodes would have been enough I think?

On a related thread note: sad to know that the next season to watch will be the last season ever... damn.

EDIT: got corrected later on, I remembered this as having been already two seasons. There’s only one aired. And yes it’s good, my memories of the content and events of it easily confuse it as two seasons wide.

I watched the first episode for 10 minutes and quit. Ignorant American moves to England and continues to be ignorant. Lazy humor.
Yeah, because 10 minutes of ANY show is 100% a summation of a show totaling many hours in length. The show starts once the obligatory American fish out of water stuff ends. Which is about 30 minutes in.

Wait - the next season is season 2. We are also getting Season 3. /confused.

Yes, my bad!
Got mixed up with how many seasons I have seen of what. Several of them happened to be two seasons (Mandalorian, Cobra Kai, etc)

In that case, yes, that’s better news, can totally welcome TWO more seasons.

Massive bummer. All good things must come to an end, I suppose. I dearly hope that Sudeikis will reevaluate this decision after S3, once Ted Lasso becomes even more well known and inevitably becomes a cultural touchstone/monolith.
I would love it to go on too, but I’ve seen too many series (US “The Office”) overstay their welcome, so I respect the decision, both artistically and ethically as Sudeikis considers his (IRL) family.

This is excellent news. I enjoyed Ted Lasso way more than I thought I would and I am glad the creators have restraint enough to not push the show beyond what it was meant to be. How many good shows in the past were exploited by broadcaster because it was popular just to run the show into the ground. I like this shift you are seeing across the industry, tell the story then move on.

I went a few more episdoes in. I think I gave it a fair shake but for my tastes I find it too cringeworthy and cartoony because I'd align it more with your averge American network TV fare. Overall I'm just so disappointed with Apple's TV offerings. Except maybe for the Fraggle Rock shorts.
