bluetooth keyboard support please. and im sorry but the movie selection is not good at all... I would LOVE app support so that I can run the sling box app in my apple TV.

I all want is to be able to sort my movies by date added. It seems so simple, I have over 800 movies and I want to see the recent additions.

I have a similar number of films. Why not create a several date driven playlists in iTunes? Eg I have mine organised by decade, then the past couple of years as new releases.

Some shows not showing up

They may be doing some work along those lines - none of my Stargate SG-1 seasons are showing up. Babylon 5 is showing up but when i select it I get the "iTunes store is unavailable" message. Others (both standard definition and HD) are showing up. All were purchased with the same apple ID. So, I'm assuming there's some switch or something they have to do in the cloud to make all the content available.

Hopefully...

Also can be redownloaded on iPhone/iPad

just checked purchases on iPhone iTunes Store and it now has a option to redownload purchased tv shows.

Step backwards internationally

I'm still upset that Canadians (and other countries) waited so long for TV Shows on tv1 but we eventually got them. Then with the tv because TV shows were only rental, they've weren't included in the new software. Fine I understand, as long as purchases were available on the tv1 I was patient, hoping for the appropriate deals to be struck but now that TV shows are available for purchase and not just rental, they should go back on tv, even if rentals are omitted. They're not. What gives?? tv continues steps backwards internationally.

Apple's Remote app allows keyboard input from iPod touch, iPhone or iPad.

Make a smart playlist in iTunes for recently added movies. Enable Home Sharing. Enable video playlists on Apple TV. Done :)

Hey thanks guys! I got that up a running and it does what I what now. It seems like it should be a native function but this works (even a little more customizable).

Thanks again! :)

support for external drives attach to a network, PLEASE!!!!!!
I don't want my Mac on to watch/listen something out of my iTunes library.

Doesn't look like international customers are ever going to get TV show rentals.

A loss for them. I am not going to wait months for a TV show to air here in europe. They can have my money if they want it, but apparently they don't.
I want to download it and watch it (without commercials) when I want. It's all about convenience. My life no longer revolves around a TV schedule or their release schedule. It's mindboggingly they can't understand that.

If a TV show is any good, I'll occasionally buy the dvd box to support the show and to encourage production of more episodes. But, really, it's a waste of plastic. Some of these boxes are just sitting on the shelf, unopened. Also, I don't want to be a disk jockey.

I wish I could purchase (monthly?) particular cable channels through the Apple TV 2. Almost everything I watch is on netflix, and if it's not there then I can rent it from Apple, but there are a couple TV channels (news) that I'd still enjoy having but honestly at this point aren't worth what I'm paying for cable TV.

ATV1 users feeling discriminated

Being an early adopter who dropped 300 bucks on a 1st-gen Apple TV, it feels like a slight betrayal to see these updates (Netflix, Vimeo, etc.) available only to the users who paid $100 for a 2nd-gen ATV... I always told people that one of the (many) reasons iPods prevailed over other MP3 players was that Apple kep supporting/updating them long after you purchased it, but now I'm feeling the opposite with my Apple TV

I really want some international love for aTV. The option to remove MLB.tv (irrelevant to most outside the US and is the first thing you see when you turn it on) and add in some iPlayer, iTV Player, 4OD, skyPlayer. Even my Wii has iPlayer!

anyone else missing a lot of shows from their purchased history?

Yes, for example it shows I have only the SD pilot of 'Breaking Bad' available. I purchased seasons 1-3 in HD on this account last month when they were on sale and none of them are showing.

"The addition allows users to freely re-download previously-purchased TV show content in the same way that Apple enabled the feature for music alongside its iCloud announcements in early June."

Hallelujah! Now I may not need that RAID system after all -- if Apple's going to let me redownload. I'd rather spend the time to download again rather than spend the $1000 to get a RAID just for this.
