I want a major Apple TV interface overhaul :p

Agreed! I just signed up for Netflix having used it for a while now on my sisters Roku. The Roku interface to Neflix is so much nicer.

I also wish they would open Apple TV to the app store and allow the installation of additional apps. I would love to have a Sling app like the WD device has.

New update bricked mine. Luckily the cable needed is the same as my Htc One charging cable. Was able to restore in iTunes.

Apple made a dark, iOS 7 interface for the updated Trailers app. It looks nice. I wish Apple would make two skins for iOS 8: One dark and one light. Have the skins installed by default to match the color of each phone with the option to switch. iOS 7 is pretty bright, especially on larger screens like the iPad. I much prefer darker UIs.

Here here!! That's my number one complaint about iOS 7: the brightness of almost every native app (the music app is particularly offensive to me). In low light, the glaring UI of most native iOS 7 apps looks terrible and is a real pain to use. And in the brightest light, the almost pure white interfaces are still only "ok."

And I thought the same thing about the Trailers app, too — ironically, that small and relatively insignificant app is probably the best example of iOS 7 design implementation, in my opinion. The dark theme of private browsing in Safari is nice, too, and the night mode in Maps is a thing of beauty.

Honestly, I would just stay in private mode in Safari if it didn't 1.) Make me seem like a creep and 2.) Stored my freaking history so I can quickly jump to pages later. I just like the way it looks I swear! And since it's a most-used app, a darker option would be great. I think it's a great idea to have an option to make the UI darker at night. Apple should require developers to include light and dark UI options. I know that's a bit of extra work but it would be great. Though sometimes a brand wants a certain appearance. The app I'm working on now (I'm the designer) has a darker UI, but those are the brand colors.

There is a round-about way of hiding icons you don't want on the home screen. You have to enable Parental Controls and disable the apps based on that.

Thanks for the tip! I had forgotten about that one.

You can choose to show or hide icons in the settings, I just learned this trick a couple weeks ago and it's sublime! :)

Thank you too!

In regards to "Hiding" the Icons on your Apple TV's Home screen that you don't want to see, It's very VERY easy. You can "Hide" them by going to: Settings > General > Restrictions. Scroll down the list to the list of icons click the Center/Select button on your Apple Remote to either "Hide" or "Show" the icons of your choice. Basically this function is for parents to make App restrictions for kids, but it works great for hiding the icons on the home screen you'd rather not see and cleans it up nicely! Hope that helps!

Got it. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to some serious improvments in the upcoming updates to Apple TV. Perhaps they're preping to release the new Apple iTV?

Seriously? ... can anyone confirm this problem?

I meant to edit my post last night but forgot. I think somehow it's my Unblock-Us service. As soon as I switched my "region" to Canada, all the shared login stuff is back up & running.
