Yup. On the home screen, I'd like some kind of separator between the icons I want to see and those that I don't want to see. Or better yet, some way to entirely remove icons that I don't want to see. (And I'm a little tired of the faux "shiny button" look, now that I'm used to iOS 7.)

Also, I can't seem to figure out how to remove movies from my wish list after I've bought them. You'd think they would be automatically removed.

There is a round-about way of hiding icons you don't want on the home screen. You have to enable Parental Controls and disable the apps based on that.

Can anyone explain why the audio for Netflix while playing in Dolby Surround the actors voices do not play center speaker but only on the right but when I shut off Dolby and just stereo it works perfectly. Not sure if this is Netflix or APTV Apple should really check on this it has been happening for the last few months.

Surely Apple will be updating the UI soon. The old icons on atv are non iOS 7 and the remote app hasn't been updated for iOS 7 either. Hopefully they aren't going to wait too long before updating it?

I want a major Apple TV interface overhaul :p
You aren't going to find it in a dot upgrade.

But yeah. Me, too.
Given the debacle of the last update, I think I'll wait a couple of weeks on this one...
Will check for the update.

Quick question... Do you think future Apple TVs will have proper Apps like the iPhone/iPad?
i want an apple tv with retina around it.
This is something many users (myself included) have been asking for for a long time...
Don't hold your breath people, nothing major until next year. Don't expect an app store on a single core A5, not going to happen (that's what's in the current Apple TV), neither will there be an iOS 7 look coming.

Instead of thinking in terms of iPhone/iPod/iPad apps, think different, in a similar way that the iPod/iTunes has revamped music (who goes to a music store anymore?) Apple has a new TV experience in the works, might see this in about a year, it will be beyond current "smart" TVs, will compete directly with cable/satellite TV providers, but be internet based, it will revolutionize multi-player gaming and will include a social aspect, it will do away with the need for multiple remotes (hopefully). A glasses-free 3D version comes a year after next.

TV set-top boxes (all of 'em) are an interim product. In about 5 years they'll be lost in the transition, cable/sat subscribers will be going out of business or become solely ISPs, get out of TV biz.

IMO

Havan't updated yet, but good to see improvments.....

We like those :)

Let's just hope they fixed the bug where podcat videos keep playing regardless of of you pull out, and there is no way to resume same show unless you restart ATV.

Not to mation background wasting if bandwidth.

Everything good now

I was about to give up on the Apple TV that seemed to be bricked. I went back into the room and saw the screen saver, not the screen about airplay I couldn't move from. I woke that up, and there was the main screen. I went around and opened settings. One password was changed, that was the problem. So I changed that, and bingo!

Interesting to some is a new entry. You can show or hide any app! Nice!

On my ATV 2 I've had problems with 6.0 dealing with stream buffering… Or the lack of, actually… Many times I would fire up a show or movie from my iTunes share and it won't buffer more than a couple seconds worth. When it catches up to the buffer from time to time it will drop the sound and continue with just video. I ended up downgrading to 5.whatever-was-last and the problem went away… When I have some down time I'll try this new one to see if it fixes it… If not, then it's back to 5.x.x

You can choose to show or hide icons in the settings, I just learned this trick a couple weeks ago and it's sublime! :)

do not upgrade apple tv

the previous software update reduced my apple TV to a brick. Took it to Apple and said I should buy a new one since my Apple TV mysteriously failed (about 15 days past warranty). I managed to recover it thanks to google and some poor other user who went through the same, so no thanks Apple, I won't upgrade your software when you say so. you can go and f***k yourself.

surprising that a .0.1 update is front page news.

Just done it

It just finished a while back and so far what has leapt out at "me" is how quick the preview covers appear at the top of the screen when I select the Computer icon. Historically I have had blank squares more than previews. Since updating to 6.01 they were there as soon as I selected the icon.

I did update to Mavericks yesterday and that is ridiculously fast on my i5 27" mid 2011... well so far anyway ;) So whether that has something to do with the better performance of the ATV2 or not I couldn't be sure. But I can't see anything else in the menus other than under Audio Video where I just spotted 3rd from the bottom, "Adjust for Airplay Overscan". Is that new or had I missed it?

Intresting, tne "Update Autmatically" set to "On" does nothing.. I've never seen an update message saying. It' available' since this setting was added.
