I've just installed it on my iPhone 5.
Some lags (but light ones) and a slightly increased speed.

Rest the battery ... Looks like it is a little more energy-consuming but will check with time and use.

Besides, Apple HAS to change the icons, they are so incompatible with the company image

man this iOS is going to be a pain in the *** for your eyes in the dark. Sooo much white color everywhere its going to burn your RETINA;)

Let's play, "Count the 'original' Apple updates"! Here's how to play: You simply watch the video, and count as many Apple "original ideas" that Android has already released months/years before this, and post them in the comment section!

#1 Preview of currently running apps with the app icon AND screenshots of the apps (Android already did it).

#2 The ability to swipe away currently running apps (Android already did it).

#3 Notifications in the lock screen (Android already did it).

#4 Bigger, yet thinner text to look more sleek (Android already did it).

#5 A control center for things like wifi, bluetooth, ect, all with the drag of a finger (Android already did it).

#6 Full-screen web browsing...even though iOS 7 doesn't even let you use literally the whole screen (Android already did it...and you can use the ENTIRE full-screen).

#7 A slide to unlock screen that doesn't actually show a bar to slide, but is invisible in order to look sleeker (Android already did it).

#8 Transparent screens. (Android already did it with the options of using apps that change the launcher...something that Apple still won't allow).

#9 Automatic Updates (Android already did it...YEARS ago).

#10 Photo date tagging (Android already did it).

#11 Automatically organizing photos based on date taken (Android already did it).

#12 Air Drop...Really? Bluetooth does the same thing without using up your data plan. (Bluetooth already did it).

#13 The ability to see web browser bookmarks in screenshot form (Android already did it).

#14 The ability to swipe through different internet tabs (Android already did it).

#15 iTunes Radio...Pandora did this ages ago. (Android already did it with Google Music All Access...AND you can listen to any full song you want (combination of Pandora and Spotify))

If this was a drinking game, we'd all be passed out by now lol

LOL, you sound like you would use any reason to get drunk.

Here is my response to your list.

#1 Pretty sure Palm Pre did this first and jailbreak iPhones has this before Android did.

#2 Again, WebOS, jailbroken phones

#3 WebOS? Jailbroken phones as well

#4 I would argue that Windows phone did it first.

#5 SbSettings?

#6 What? Safari had full screen in iOS6. And both phones has chrome that does it as well.

#7 Okay this is getting ridiculous...

#8 So did Android did it? Or some guys who wrote launchers did it? Jailbreaking also allows you to have similar effects.

#9 Years ago as in less than 1.5 ago right? When iOS 5 was released?

#10 ...but iPhoto on mac already did it? What?

#11 ^

#12 Whaaat? Airdrop uses bluetooth and Wifi...I think you are already drunk by this point

#13 That I didn't know it does! Kudos! My first shot.

#14 ... Palm Pre?

#15 All of these exist on both OS.....

So um... yea :) Still sober

I GUARANTEE you we'll eventually hear stories about how this wasn't ready yet, but they had to put it out for WWDC so they could beta test it for the iPhone 5s release.

There are just so many inconsistencies, and Ive honestly looked ill-at-ease during much of the conference. Usually he exudes confidence...here he avoided the stage and looked like he didn't want to be there.

he didnt look ill at ease in the video they showed off first...
and it was completed by then, they showed off pretty much every redesigned app and Ive talked about it. as much as i want you to be right, i dont think that will happen

It looks like iOS still DOES NOT have true multitasking. It simply implemented the multitasking selector panel from Android OS.

And, no, the iOS jailbreaking community, or what's left of it nowadays, copied Android verbatim, and Apple did it too.

Ironically, you seem to have forgotten that it was Apple filing lawsuits left and right because others implemented stuff like "elastic" scroll....

lol
iOS AND the jailbreak community existed way before googles android.

and apple was sueing left and right because they were first to the game and had plenty of patents for a reason.
otherwise what is the point of patents.

The new typography is very reminiscent of the one the BBC has increasingly been using in the last few years with an onrush of Helvetica across the programming.

Wait a minute...you're calling the OLD UI childish and gay?

Compared to this one???

The new UI looks like My Little Pony vomited on the screen. Have a man stare at that color scheme for 5 minutes and he'll start complaining about menstrual cramps.

It's trash.

I can't tell since my retinas are burning. Maybe if they had used a color scheme that was...I don't know...NOT radioactive.
Are you that insecure that you have to assert your sexual identity through the UI of a phone? :S

I think it looks very nice and modern, a much needed refresh. But I agree with those saying that some of the icons look too basic.

Design

The icons are kind of hideous but the interface looks splendid.

Agreed - I don't know if anyone else has already said this but I for one am hoping that these icons are placeholders for some nicer ones on the final release. These look like they've been done by the office junior in their lunch hour!

Ser Johnny is a brilliant product designer but as a graphic designer (if this is his work) meh.

That Safari Icon is especially ****!

My main issue is not with the introduction of features that should have been introduced yonks ago, but more with the way they introduced it.

I watched this keynote from the start, but wasn't always sure. At some points it felt like a stream of the nearby Scientology gathering was broadcast instead. The way the speakers introduced pretty minor improvements made me think they actually cured cancer (this was amplified by the odd "woo woo" shouts made by the audience (why do Americans do this? I tried it whilst watching it and my flat mate just looked at me funny)).

Most stuff was pretty underwhelming but we are made to think world peace will ensue once we download this thing.

"We now added moving clouds to the weather app. It's truly astonishing. And look, when i press the + it adds an event to the calendar. Amazing! This is what we do here at Apple"... *Crowd goes wild: " Woooooo Woooooo..."*.

It's all very strange and very cringeworthy.
it's not strange, it's actually quite sad and worrying to see all those people ecstatically react to things like that. Sometimes it just looks like they're all...well, i dont want to get banned for another week for saying this but, mentally challenged. No offence to people that were there and did react like that. I mean they showed Wozniak and he was totally cool all the time and you could see he was impressed but when they showed a group of some random people they were screaming and cheering and yelling "i love you". It's like they have no other joy in their life and all they do is sit and wait for Apple to introduce something new so they can scream and shout and then fall into depression for another year until the next keynote lol

Hey Apple! It's 2013 Calling!

iOS remains in early 2000's with lack of user definable home screen. Even Lumias has this most basic feature that every user use in their phone.

Apple became a copying machine .

Every so called innovations have been taken from MIUI, Roboto, Android multitask , WebOS cards, the Quick Settings panel, the 3d wallpaper (available on Android since September 2011 ...)

It will definitely take some getting used to: swipe up for unlocking

That's the whole point why I think the redesign is bad in terms of usability: you don't swipe upwards to unlock. Your mistaken assumption is probably based on the upward-pointing arrow at the bottom directly under the text 'slide to unlock', but it only gives direct access to the Action Centre from the lock screen. Instead, the 'slide to unlock' text is still the actual slider as it is in iOS 6, it just doesn't look like it anymore.

For me the biggest new thing is hidden in the API: 60FPS Videorecording!!!!

Behold the vast amount of slow motion apps that will follow the release of iOS7.

What about notifications when someone receives a text message while doing something else ?
How the banner looks like ? is there a quick respond button ?
Does it appear on the lock screen ?
What about blocking a number ?
What about opening 3rd party apps by default like chrome and google maps ?
How the videos application looks like ? Can it now play .mkv and other formats ? subtitles ?
What about closing all apps at once in the multitasking ?
What about the notes application, can we now insert photos in the text ?

Please show us what apple didn't show :(

I do not want to watch two hours of sales talk to get an answer to a simple question. Based on your defensive answer, my guess is we still do not have true multitasking.
You don't want true multitasking, because some stupid app would empty your battery in the background. You want a sort of multitasking, that emulates the effects without providing the actual technology. True multitasking is not suitable for mobile phones and other small battery devices. Apple knows that and therefore invents new kinds of multitasking. You should be thankful for that. It's called innovation. :apple:

When Apple doesn't have feature X from Android : Apple sucks! It doesn't innovate! Android has this feature and Apple doesn't have!

When Apple has the feature X similar to Android: Apple copied! It's not innovation! Everybody has those features since [time]!

It's very Android looking, also the opaque theme reminds me of the Linux KDE desktop themes from 2010. It's not bad, but I expected better from Apple.

The new icons are okay, I guess, but they are going to clash really hard with the traditional icons of all the third-party apps. I'm not sure if all these developers will update their icons to better match the new look and feel.

What a stupid comment. I suppose if the whole UI were shades of pink with Hello Kitty every where and I pointed that out, it would mean I'm "insecure."

It doesn't look good. It's too bright, the icons suck, and the transparency in some of the shots I've seen make the text difficult to read.

Now maybe the actual functionality is OK. But it needs a better color palette and far, far better icons. I've dealt with icon artists for different projects. If one of them had sent me those I would have fired him on the spot.
