Aside from the icons (which may yet be changed) have you tried switching your wallpapers up and experimenting with different colored ones?
It seems to me the "theming" in iOS 7 is incredibly dynamic and very much depends on the wallpaper you are using. Say you use a dark or even black wallpaper - your translucent menus begin to look darker gray and the type face changes to white.
I don't have iOS 7 - gotta wait for the unwashed masses release, but it seems like there is a lot to it that people are either ignoring or are posting about without actually diving in.
And let's not forget, this is a Beta 1 release......still have (by best assumptions) 3-4 months before the final release. A lot can change in that time.
I hope this helps you understand the issue a bit better. Individual needs vary, but generally it is better to have true multitasking than not. Once you start using it, it's hard to go back.
Because no one cares about widgets.
Don't know if this has been mention, but it will be interesting to see if there is a big overhaul to the sounds/tones/audio used throughout the OS, similar to the visual redesign. The sounds currently used are so inextricably linked to the previous design of iOS that they don't really seem to fit - my view anyway.
So multitasking only means having two windows visible at the same time?
So if my desktop is running some complex calculations for a project I'm working on in a certain program while I browse the web or play a game, my computer isn't multitasking because I'm not looking at the window where the program is running the calcs?
And despite all that - I don't know about you, but I find it physically impossible to look at two windows at the same time.....and would rather not have even my iPad mini screen split in half for anything.
In other words, wrong answer.

You asked what multi tasking was, I told you and gave an example; the fact you don't see it of benefit to you doesn't make it a wrong answer. I'd say it was a stupid thing to say but the fact you have difficulty looking at 2 things at once sort of sums things up! For everyone else, having the ability to (for example) have a movie or radio window open at the same time as working on a document is quite handy (hint: it's called multi-tasking) and whilst some may use it, some may not, it's nice to have the option should you wish (especially on a screen like the Note 2). A computer multi-taking is also very different from a user having the ability to multi task (which I do with my iMac and 2x27" screens and my Galaxy phone.
The point is that there are many ways for a computer to feature multitasking, each with tradeoffs. Saying one kind is 'true multitasking' and the others are 'fake multitasking' or whatever is falsely elevating one alternative among many. "Well yes, iOS has multitasking, but it's not true multitasking" is pedantry, plain and simple.
If a form of multitasking works fine for someone, it's irrelevant whether your say it's 'real' multitasking or not. All that 'real' means in this case is 'macUser2007 likes it, and is shoring up his opinion/needs as though they are objective properties'.
It doesn't mean "limited multitasking for only some applications specifically allowed by Apple."
Let me boil it down for you: The only question is whether Apple's multitasking works the way users want it to. For some people it's fine, for others it's not. What's irrelevant is whether it fits your definition of 'real'. 'Real' is a weasel adjective, plain and simple.
Oh please, I would rather have instead of twinkle twinkle little star like audios.
I am a big time Apple user but I must say... The interface looks a lot like WP8 mixed with a bit of Android except done a lot better. The icons suck but I'd bet my 7 month old son they will change those icons before the final release. Everything else in my opinion looks good. I'm very excited to get my hands on it.
Writing this on iOS 7 Beta on my iPod Touch 5G.
is there an option for battery percentage in the itouch 5g?
It seems that everything is held up to Android, and compared to it as if Android is "The standard" of mobile OS'...
iPhone:

Release date, 1st gen: June 29, 2007
Google "G1" (or HTC "Dream" - the first Android phone ever):

Release date, October 2008
Android 1.0 looked like Windows 95 on release, had more bugs than an ant farm vs iPhone OS 1.0 which looked incredible, and performed amazingly, and still does.
So, to recap, the platform which was released 16 months after the iPhone was, is the benchmark?
Apple: "We make the best, not the most".
But that's just based on screen shots and demos.
Jony Ive has delivered as (I) expected .... Load of pre-school looking *****, a lot of its style copied from Android and Windows. Fail!
This plus any lack of decent hardware to run it on means I'll be sticking with my S4 for even longer than I thought!
