IpadOS utterly 🐕💩 for every "PRO" User.
I am beyond baffled at the approach Apple takes. They ignore everything and keep doing the bare minimum so they can keep milking.
Got an M4 Ipad, utterly useless as a Desktop with an external Display. Like others said: File System, Stage Manager, Input devices customization MouseKeyboard, and so on.
Unbelivable

As long as Apple gets a 30% commission on app subscriptions and sales for every iPadOS app, they will never take the training wheels off.

honestly WHY put anything beyond an M1 in an iPad, really? even that is overpowered, it feels like an adult panther inside a matchbox. except of course, an adult panther could break outside of a matchbox, so this is an indestructible matchbox.

they lose me more and more every year. and the smugness! It was one thing to be smug when you had things to be smug about. Not on iPad they don't. It's actually farcical how powerful it is hardware wise, and yet their bloody minded control freakishness means they stay as ridiculously expensive toys that you don't even get to really own or control. LAME
To be fair, Logic Pro on iPad Pro is pretty damn impressive. Final Cut Pro less so.

Enable. Damn. Virtualisation. On apple silicon iPads . Pro users can use it , others won’t even know it exists

I agree Logic is amazing. But Apple shouldn't have to be the only people who can really utilise the power of the hardware. I sort of want to cry when I imagine what would be possible with just simply enabling virtualisation as you suggest.

I like the sound of these AI features, I must admit. I'm just agog at them putting the M4 and an incredible display and pen on the iPad essentially to edge the world forever on its powerful unrealised capabilities

From what I've tried of Stage Manager, they needn't have bothered.
It's not unusable, it's just not as robust and bug free as it should be, and I was hoping to hear they're making improvements with this release. I bought an M2 iPad Pro when it was the most current chip, and I really thought I'd be able to take advantage of the power of the chip beyond gaming. I wish I had gone with an M1 iPad Air instead.

I would like an option to have MacOS on an iPad. Doesn't have to be the only option, for those who do not want it, but it should be an option.

No, IMO. Arm Windows yes. There's absolutely no excuse for this. I can see a reason not to use Mac OS, but Apple does not listen to its customer base any longer. I'm not a happy camper. There's apparently corporate disfunction now. Very common with lack of leadership (ok, so I'm pissed LOL)

That will never happen as long as Apple gets a 30% cut of app sales on iPadOS.

Virtualisation would’ve been the best of both worlds. I have a 2tb 16gb m1 iPad Pro; they took out the virtualisation framework out of spite from iOS15. People were running Windows 11 on UTM beautifully smoothly before that.

Insanity.
