No it wasn’t. S model years were always the years that the best new features arrived. It was the non-S years where nothing changed other than the shape.

4S added Siri, 5s added Touch ID and dual flash, 6S added 3D touch, etc.
And 3GS was also a REAL upgrade: compass, video recording etc. And the speed / RAM bump was enormous.

Interesting that you removed that bit from your post. Implies that maybe you don't really care either. 😜
Actually, it was because I found that I was wrong it it also a 6X optical with camera/optics from Leica. I was going to reword it but distracted on a teams meeting from work.. Sorry. I like tech, so I am not biased about who makes it. However, I will not drift from Apple as I like having the complete ecosystem and every time I have to use a windows pc, I want to knock it down and smash it....it just sucks.

I'm a little disappointed in the 13 Pro/PM reception this year from most of you. Compared to the overwhelming gripes about the 12 Pro/PM, you would think Apple absolutely killed it this year.
Lots of talk about this being a "S-type" upgrade while completely ignoring the S-type upgrade scheme since the induction of the X. Besides the addition of an ultrawide camera and changing the case to an uncomfortable brick, this is arguably the biggest update since the X. 120Hz screen (which note was a huge gripe about the 12 Pro/PM) and smaller notch are going to be the most noticeable changes in my opinion.

Coming from an avid 2 year cycle supporter dating back to the 4, this will be my first upgrade since I got the X. I actually returned the 12 Pro Max last year because, minus the extra camera, there really wasn't any noticeable difference (just as there was no appreciable difference between the X->XS->11 and hardly a difference between 11->12) to the X.

Again this is just my opinion, but the notch size reduction and addition of 120Hz makes this the first worthwhile upgrade since the X. Were there features we would have loved to see (looking at you always on display, USB-C, and TouchID)? Of course, but if those came this year, what are we going to be left with to be unimpressed at next year?

Edit: changed a letter

Not a ‘must have’ upgrade. Disappointed. Camera is a nice upgrade however overall the iPhone doesn’t excite if you have an iphone 11pro or 12 pro
Precisely my position. If you have a Pro iPhone, nothing exciting to see here. 120hz is nice but not a huge deal on such a small display. Ill wait until next year.

Anyone know why swipe to go back on android chrome is so slow in comparison to iOS? It always reloaded the page and is not instantaneous like on iOS safari. It may sound silly but that’s the main reason I haven’t switched to android.

I'm very likely to get the iPhone 13, but in all previous years I've purchased an iPhone, I never even looked at Android. The Pixel 6 is the first Android phone that's really interested me. It is basically the iPhone of Android.
Battery life and smoothness will be huge factors. I love that it has Touch ID and an always on display but I don’t want a phone which has worse battery life or is laggy.

yea, i was being sarcastic. i was fortunate enough to buy apple right before their stock shot up about 2 years ago.
After reading many of the negative comments (as usual) I missed the sarcasm, sorry about that.

I started with Apple stock in 2013, so I cannot complain.
A lot of great technology upgrades and refinements I couldn't possibly use at my age, so I will wait till next year or maybe the year after to upgrade. My 12Pro in polished gold has been great and matches my SS Gold watch, so not in a hurry.

I’m happily uninterested in the new iPhone 13 Pro’s, not to mention the Watch 7’s, which I was hoping for a redesigned form factor. I am disappointed that the new Watches won’t launch until later this fall, as my elderly mother-in-law wants to buy one, for health / safety reasons - I should say we’ve convinced her she needs to have one so she can track her heart issues and have piece of mind if she falls, which she has twice in the past two years, both times requiring hospitalization. So many versions of the 6 have been sold out, that we figured the 7 would be what to get. I guess we’ll either wait or I’ll do more digging to see if I can find an older model for her.

I will most likely upgrade like I always do. My 12 Pro battery is at 89% and I notice this at the end of the day.

Also Apple giving me 64% of my original purchase value with no hoops and only charging $359 to upgrade

I have a XS still. The 13 alone was simply not compelling enough for me to upgrade. My camera's aren't nearly as good, sure, but they're fine. The screen will be better, but based on what i've seen on the 12s, it's ok.

The 13 pro, though . . . the pro-motion display, plus way better cameras than the 13 (macro photography????), and better battery. I'm pretty much convinced. Gonna think about it for a bit before i pull the trigger.
