Why can’t the same dynamic island of some sort on older full screen iPhones? It’s just a software thing right?

The animations are cute but this is basically a 13 Pro with a hole in the screen.

... and the 13 was basically the 12 and the 12 was basically the 11 and the 11 was basically the X and the X was basically the 8 and the 8 was basically the 7 and the 7 was basically the 6 and the 6 was basically the 5 and the 5 was basically the 4 and the 4 was basically the 3G and the 3G was basically the 1!

Looks like it maybe uses pixel binning for jpg and can produce images using the full 48mp in raw.

Apple killed it with the notch, dynamic island is such a great idea. Bravo apple, probably one of the best features in years to the UI.

my galaxy s5, s6 , s8 had AOD come on apple at least support oled phones already my 13 pro max should at least support it

I’m shocked. I really expected to see people trashing that pill. But the dynamic island thing really seems to have swayed folks, I’m not sure why. Maybe I’ll come around, or maybe I’m missing something. But in the meanwhile:

I’m sorry, did you WATCH the example of viewing a movie on the phone?!? Say what you want, but holy **** do I love the notch now. That was HORRIBLE. That pill thing was so bad, if I was in the market for a new iPhone, I’d wait just in the hopes that it’ll be gone by the next gen.

I never had a visceral response to the notch. But the pill thing? So. Bad. Wow.

On the plus side - I’m a huge fan of purple, so thumbs up! Lol
