You have to call and ask. Now that I own all the phones on my plan, the per phone charge went from 40.00 each to 15.00 each.

The plan cost is on top of that.

I just logged into my account and it appears I DON'T have to call and ask. I'm blown away! Verizon has actually dropped our access costs on each device automatically!

Now, how are you getting $15/each?

As I've said repeatedly, if this access fee will be lowered by taking a non-subsidized phone, then all of the arguments FOR the non-subsidized prices still being fair and equal are correct. If Verizon will lower my access fees to the $20/month rate, then the argument has been satisfied. Last time I checked it was not an option, but perhaps that was because my contract had a few days left.

This is exactly what Verizon did. You need to login to your account and change plans to get the $20 lower rate. When these new plans came out several months ago, I changed over. At the time, the web site explained when my 24 month contract ended the new rate would kick in automatically. My old rate was $40 line fee plus $35 data fee for a $75 total. My contract ended yesterday (Sept. 7). I just logged in to my account and it now shows the new rate at $20 line fee and $35 data fee for a $55 total.... so exactly a $20 drop. Plus the new plan gives you one month of roll over data if that is useful to you.

Edit: Ninja'd :) Glad you got it sorted.

Apple today announced the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus at its "See You on the 7th" media event in San Francisco.

The new iPhones feature a 64-bit four-core A10 Fusion processor, stereo speakers positioned on opposite ends of the device, a flush Force-sensitive home button with a Taptic Engine for haptic feedback, and IP67-standard water and dust resistance - but no headphone jack. Wired Lightning in-ear EarPod headphones and a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter are included in the box. Apple is offering Siri-enabled wireless earbuds called AirPods as a separate accessory, available for $159 in late October.

The iPhone 7 features a faster, more energy efficient 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, six-element f/1.8 aperture lens, an artificial light compensating flicker sensor, Quad-LED True Tone flash, and enhanced tone mapping. The device also has a 7-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera with wide color capture and auto-image stabilization.

The iPhone 7 Plus differentiates itself from the 4.7-inch handset with a dual-lens 12-megapixel camera featuring all the same features, but is much more advanced, including a wide-angle lens and a separate telephoto lens that combine to create 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom features. The ISP dual-lens camera is also capable of producing live shallow depth of field shots and "bokeh" effects in preview mode.

The smartphones are crafted from anodized aluminum and have a stainless steel Apple logo, and come in a new glossy jet black color, as well as simple "black" (with a black Apple logo), alongside silver, gold and rose gold. The antenna bands are aligned along the edges of the handsets, instead of across the rear like on the previous models, and the volume buttons are positioned directly on the side of the handset (as opposed to inside a recess as per the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus).

Both devices also benefit from a 25% brighter "cinema standard" Retina HD display with wider color gamut, improved color management, and 3D Touch. Audio has also been improved with the new speakers, which include increased volume and better dynamic range.

The A10 Fusion four-core processor powering the two devices delivers up to 40% faster CPU performance, up to 50% faster graphics performance, and better efficiency compared to the A9 chip inside the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Both the new smartphones come with improved battery life, faster wireless, and the improved water resistance means the iPhones stand up to splashing and even short periods of immersion in water.

Pre-orders begin Friday September 9 and the devices are available to buy in more than 25 countries from September 16. iPhone 7 starts at $649 and comes in 32GB/128GB/256GB capacities. The iPhone 7 Plus starts at $769, also in 32GB/128GB/256GB capacities. All come pre-installed with iOS 10, which is also available for download on September 13.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are also available through the iPhone Upgrade Program, starting at $32/month and $37/month in the United States respectively. Apple said the iPhone Upgrade Program will be expanding to the United Kingdom and China.

[doublepost=1473347256][/doublepost]Does anyone know how to preorder an iPhone 7 unlocked and sim free, or will this come later? I don't want to have any carrier contract as I work overseas, but can't seem to find a way to order on apple.com without selecting a carrier.

Nah, not accident-prone. I'm just a busy guy moving from place to place and sometimes those cables just get snagged on stuff.

Well.....funny thing is......sometimes society doesn't see the benefit later down in the future
And sometimes there isn't one because the change was not made for the benefit of consumers.

Nice advertising for stereo:

That's how it should be. But I'm sure stereo speakers both firing out of the bottom is the same. Lol.

They should have put another speaker on top for real stereo imagine. You know...like their ad.

The ad is accurate. That's exactly what they did. Did you even watch the keynote?

... Water resistance claim is useless if the company does not back it up on warranty, when you as a company do this, then you lose credibility, you let to be known that you are losing confidence on what you offer, water resistance feature is now reduced to a misleading novelty ... Bad policy, customer service will hear some roars in an early future ... Dangerous game they are playing

To Apple's credit they managed to announce the removal of the headphone jack without resorting to any misinformation about it being necessary for water resistance. Does the lie really need to live on here in the forum? The only reason to make up imaginary explanations for the removal is if you think the real reasons are not good enough.

Apple did indeed mention it was necessary for water resistance, so it's not misinformation.

Not during the announcement they didn't. And if they told that lie anywhere else I would need a source before I believe it. Since there are plenty of water resistant phones with headphone jacks on the market, I find it unlikely that Apple would humiliate themselves by claiming something like that.

I just like the idea of you, sitting at home, laptop out, year after year waiting for the dual sim announcement

How did you arrive at that conslusion that I am waiting for 9 years ?

My primary phone is not iPhone from Feb 2015. I skipped 6s, a will skip 7 and most probably next itteration.
Quite a few people switched to other brands becouse Apple just ignores this - fact.

when push comes to shove, many people will pass on the iPhone because of [no headphone jack]

That's why I asked... "How many people?"

Personally... I use the included Earpods... and I use Bluetooth in the car. There's gotta be PLENTY of people in that scenario.

And I also know tons of people who have drawers full of the old included Earpods because they simply do not use any headphones at all. That's gotta be a big chunk of people too.

Then look at all the people who walk around with those Bluetooth collar headsets or any other Bluetooth solution. They've already abandoned the headphone jack and went wireless. That's another set of people who aren't using the headphone jack.

And then for everyone else... you can still use traditional headphones with the iPhone 7. Apple didn't make them completely incompatible.

I just don't think it's as big a deal as everyone is making. But that's just me.

Don't people work on computers, with headphone ports?
If Apple was still making computers, they'd ditch those too.

It's the "Courageous" thing to do.

The new iphone 7 in the "Jet Black" color will certainly look nice next to the 2003 Mac Pro.

There doesn't seem to be much buzz about the new iPhone out in public. In fact I've only heard it brought up once in passing. Perhaps people are realizing it's just more of the same based on iPhone 6. Apple may be in for a surprise.

Wireless headphones are the future. There are many good and cheap ones available if you don't like the new ones from Apple. A year from now you will think you are crazy if wanted wires around you. Even for charging

That's great that you can predict the future! Actually, though, wireless headphones are the past. They've been around for a while now. The reason they're still a small portion of the headphone market, and almost non-existent among audiophiles and in recording studios is that they just aren't as good sounding or reliable! Also, you maybe overestimate how many people want to replace their $150+ earphones every year or two when the battery life starts to get shorter and shorter, or just plain want to recharge yet another thing every day or two!

Remember when smartwatches were the future? Turns out not many people want to have to toss their watches when the battery life gets bad or when it gets slow due to OS updates designed for newer watches, and nobody really wants to have to remember to charge their watch every night, either.

Since we're looking at bills, I checked with AT&T. We pay $271 a month for service for two cellphones and two iPads. Everything was bought outright at Apple. We have 700 min (which we don't need), insurance (7.99) and $35 unlimited data grandfathered in from the time of the first iPhone. It breaks down: $90 for the plan and $9.99 for the second line, $41 for each iPad (only covering 3G). I mentioned that the 700 min was too much but he stressed not to change the plan (which suggested that I would lose the unlimited data).

With the Apple upgrade program, I'm tempted to order the 7 that way (drop the insurance) and then be able to get the 8 when it's out. When you first start the upgrade program, you get to sell your previous iPhone 6, right? (I know that thereafter, you must turn in the previous phone).

What's most attractive to me this time is the camera (an experienced photographer friend is very excited about this camera in a phone).

All I know is the phones are either on the Apple Upgrade Program or out of contract. Also, we have a few Cellular iPads at I think 10.00 each.
