After Sonoma, I always felt the follow-up landmark name would be Sequoia. Happy with this and I like they've introduced a native password app into MacOS 15.

90% of my iPad is spent on youtube/netflix/sports. :D
Actually, I’m surprised the number of people I see using an iPad with a pencil to take handwritten notes [in place of using a notebook]. I would suspect that maybe the most common use of an iPad outside the home. But your basic premise on iPad utilization is still valid.

I had the same thought, I have to authenticate like 20 times a day because Salesforce is awesome.

Now this makes me wonder how it will handle things like biometric authentication and secure screens like bank apps, password managers, etc. Not that it would work all that well but I imagine video streaming apps are right out as well, due to DRM they would definitely just show a black screen.

iPhone Mirroring and iPhone Notifications on Mac: Holy Apple I'm blown away!!!

Holy **** at iPhone mirroring!!!! will this be available on visionOS

I really do not see the benefit of iPhone mirroring other than a gimmick to sell. 99.9% of people have their phones stitched to their skin so they aren't ever without it.
the password app could start to make life difficult for 1password :)

And 1Password. And Soulver.
Now this would be good if you could in future take it with you should you move to Android.

Ok I will use the absolute crap out of the phone mirroring. I keep my phone in another room while working and trying to concentrate but sometimes you need to do annoying things like respond to a Microsoft authenticator prompt and being able to just “pull up my phone on my laptop” will be great.
How about just making all of this stuff work natively with macOS? We really need iPhone screen mirroring to get this done?

Window snapping ala... uh, Windows... is the only feature that seems like I'd use. Everything else, meh. More toyetification of the OS.

Installed the beta on my Mac and iPhone, don't see mirroring anywhere.
I'm having the same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro Max & M3 Pro MacBook Pro. Both updated with their respective betas and both have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on. There's nothing in the release notes indicating this feature is missing or "coming soon" and I can't find any settings on either device that would need to be toggled on.

iPhone mirroring on Mac, finally! That would be cool if iPad mirroring arrives too. But I REALLY hope iPhone mirroring comes to iPad—I put my iPhone on a charging dock when I get home and only use my iPad, but I often have to walk over to it for random things. It would be great if every Apple device could have a mirror app on every bigger screen Apple device, from Watch to iPhone to iPad to Mac to Vision Pro—Apple TV too.

Different UI, been here all along.

Window snapping to replace BTT? Check.

Passwords app to replace 1Password? Check.

Pasteboard app to replace Paste? Nope.

Menu bar icon hiding/showing to replace Bartender and their shady new owner? Nope.

50% ain’t bad! Maybe next year. First two are huge.

I’m also excited about iPhone Mirroring so I don’t have to get my iPhone out while working just to check something and get “sucked into” my phone. But I wonder what impact that will have on the battery of both devices? But most of the time I will probably just use the iPhone notifications and only open if it’s important. But it’s good to be able to glance that on the Mac!

iPhone Mirroring and iPhone Notifications on Mac: Holy Apple I'm blown away!!!
When I first switched to Apple ecosystem in 2020, I thought it was a given that iPhone notifications would be on the Mac and hence bought an iPhone. I was so disappointed to know that this was not the case. Better late than never.
