What I find interesting is that not only Air is still around, but got a bump to 8 GB (13") for free. So essentially Apple dropped their prices. It's the second time this year, apocalypse must be near!

Why would they even bother to bump the base RAM to 8Gb if they intend in replacing it? To me it's a sign that they are not intending to this year.

I wish they just say what they're doing about rMPB and Skylake and at least put me out of my misery.. This is getting boring now...

One of the worst things you could do to your battery (phone, laptop, iPad) is to constantly plug and plug it; and that's exactly what a single port does for this one.

Wonder how bad the battery will be after a year or so of use

That's a completely backwards viewpoint. You're correct that it's bad for your battery to constantly plug it in and unplug it. That, and the 10 hour battery life are specifically why you shouldn't need to plug and unplug it all of the time. Took me several years to get into the habit of not keeping my MBA plugged in when I use it, even though there's usually an AC port nearby.

Use the computer unplugged, and then plug it in when the battery needs to be charged.

Not sure I'll upgrade my 2015 Macbook. Performance is fine so not looking for more. For those complaining about what it doesn't have, this means its not the device for you. Its ok to be opinionated, but make sure you're complaining about things that matter. If you're compiling code or designing, you shouldn't even consider this. If you're an network/systems engineer and travel (such as myself), this is the perfect device. Even with the 5-10 adapters/cables I travel with, my bag is light. I don't need to connect multiple devices to my laptop unless I'm at my desk and the hub works for my needs. YMMV.

I sold mine after a few months because I could no longer stand the keyboard; was hoping they'd change it :(

Still no rMBP... at least we know it must be soon if the standard MB got Skylake already

I dunno why people are surprised. This is a spec bump, and until they are ready for the rMB to subsume all or most of the MacBook Air line it's unlikely to pick up the extra port or be significantly redesigned. It took two years and three revisions for the MacBook Air to get to its "final form" and another year before it replaced the MacBook; I'd expect a similar if slightly shorter timeframe this go-around.

so, 1h more battery life, its a good thing for those who wanted this Macbook and don't have the first gen.
rose gold is nice to have.
Anything else?

I am liking this update! Its not what most of us wanted, but hey, its better than before. I'll be waiting on the next update...hopefully a major one.

I just can't see whatever laptop they announce at WWDC to not have these four colors...

I absolutely love the coordination of the design language / colors across product lines. It really embraces the ecosystem feel; you can match all of your devices. The next iMacs will probably have the same colors.

No price drop on the new rMB strongly suggests that the Air still has life. I really hope that we don't just get new Airs during WWDC and don't get Pros until later :(

Barely 1 minute in and already >10 complainers.
If you complain it is NOT for you.
Barely 2 minutes into it and here we have a complainer complaining about the complainers! At least the complainers complain about the Mac. You are complaining about people.

I actually come here to read the complaints. I wish Apple would. Maybe that would inspire a bit more innovation. This update is a big let down.

Sure, completely ignore the engineering Apple does for their complete battery systems and instead parrot common wisdom from the 90's. I'm sure that will get you somewhere....
The reason I trust real consumer experience rather than the parrot apple engineers 'magical' statements is simple conflict of interest; Apple wants you to keep buying products, they don't have any real motivation to increase durability of the battery; they have reasons to increase battery life as a selling point, but not how long the battery will live. They want you to buy a new laptop in two years, or at minimum, come back to genius bar to replace your battery.

So go ahead, enjoy the apple koolaid
