Boy, what if your car updated like this, outside your control.

You’d be wondering, “Will I be able to drive home tonight?”

Let's wait for more guinea pi... people to install it then test it first.
Sticking with 2B588 until more reviews come in about the update's effects.

How long did it take for rattling to start happening for you, if I might ask, and have you had the new non rattling ones as long as that?

(One of mine rattles just a little, but I’d actually like to get them both replaced because the NC is much worse now and the ear fit test never passes for either ear)

Got mine on launch day and they started rattling a few months in. Have not had the new non-rattling as long. Have only had for a little over a month but so far so good.

I hope it fixes my issue with the right ear bud where it doesn't charge when I put them back in the case. It stays connected with my mac mini even in the case and it will drain the battery instead of charging.

So ready to be rid of 2C54 and see if noise cancelling improves.

so do I. So hopefully this will solve. Know it’s a long shot but hey one can hope

Edit:

Mine just got the update. Enabled ANC, talking alone as that is the trigger usually for the rattling sounds, so far nothing.

Still early to tell as it is intermittent, but we'll see

EDIT 2: Problem still there. Move along, nothing to see here.
How did you update them? I tried with the lid open and the case charging close to the iPhone and nothing...

Hello everyone, Any help, please..I have an older version of Airpod. Model Number A1523. My firmware version is 6.8.8 and the Hardware version is 1.0.0. I have serious Airpod disconnection issues recently. May I know what is the latest firmware update on my model and how to fix the disconnection issues or update my firmware on my model?

Until you charge the AirPods case and it will update. There's no way to stop it I'm afraid.
I guess maybe if they stick to wireless charging, that might hold it off.....or they can want it to happen like us and then it'll NEVER happen.......ugh

Finally. Plugged in, but charging case closed. Case open did not trigger it.

I thought I was going nuts - I have exactly the same issue with the right ear bud. Mine are on 2B588. I've had everything plugged in for about an hour already but still no update.
